I've been to cities that never close down, from New York to Rome and old London town,
but no matter how far or how wide I roam, I still call Australia home.

I'm always travelling, I love being free, and so I keep leaving the sun and the sea,

So here i am in Halifax packing my bags for a new life in England
i am packing... why does it seem like i'm always packing?
Just a week ago i never would have ever thought about leaving Halifax so soon
This is sudden, i know. This is unexpected, i know.

Things change. Circumstances change. People change.

I am looking forward to what this year will bring

New York City bound in 2 days
6 days on my own in the Big Apple. Will i find new friends? i hope so...

Cancun in 7 days
meeting my girls Kristen, Nicole, Liisa, Anna there
5 girls backpacking in Central America will be hype!!

A much deserved break from this really stressful term
if i were to stay in Halifax for the three week break i would seriously go insane
majority of my classmates are flying off as well to Japan, Austria, Cuba, Trinidad & Tobago, Mexico City
so mom, i'm not the only one who feels the need to destress
travling keeps my head on my shoulders
only 2 more years until i'm done archi school. i can't wait for it to be over

running away hoping to find something. is it joy? it is adventure?

seeing God's creation in the form of animals, plants, landscapes, foods. Understanding people from different cultures and learning to speak their language... everything i've seen and heard, I understand God a little more.

sometimes i wonder if i will ever find it
i realized as i am getting older that sometimes in searching for the right person, there isn't really "the one"
caring and love overseas everything

it's the mutal understanding of learning to share and learning to love
to share your strengths and especially learning to love the person for their weakness

recently i have been feeling quite down

for the past while i've been seeing someone who i actually really enjoyed and had hoped to have a relationship with. things were going really well... or so i thought from my perspective. then one day suddenly out of the blue i was cut cold of everything that use to be familiar with him: phone calls, text messages, emails. i let it off a few days just to see if he would give me a call up. after a full week of making excuses for him (which i knew i shouldn't have done but did anyways because i wanted to gave him the benifit of the doubt) before i decided to pick up the phone and call. why is it always me who has to make the initiation

i have been turned down in a potential relationship due to three factors:

age
the number of degrees i hold
i know what i want in life, that i have my life figured out

all in all, he was intimidated. Period.

Even independent women need love and to be loved

ROAD TRIP TO BOSTON

driving for 8 hours. first stop was to the liquor store after the border, haha

the ocean waters aren't as warm here as in Australia that's for sure!

(R) stranded in Maine one evening due to a severe snowstorm in Saint Johns while returning home to Halifax.
Spa tub made it all the worthwhile! wooooopie!!

oh... and i saw tons of I.M.Pei buildings as well as the one by Groupius, yay!
i am so satisfied and inspired :)

Reading week is next week
planning a road trip with 4 friends to Boston
going to hire a car, live in hostels and go devour some architecture
can't wait to get out of here for a bit
i'm just dying to go anywhere but stay here

Term break is from April 14-May5th
been looking around at Central America ($226) and South America ($428) or L.A. ($264)
Fly to Cancun then backpack down to Guatemala & Honduras, or to Lima & Caracus
heck, i'm up for anything and willing to go anywhere cheap
original plan was to see Ireland & Scotland but plane ticket alone is out of my budget
my body is craving to go somewhere nice and warm
i may have a travel buddy to go with so i'm pretty pumped!!!

i find it extremely hard to be back in school now after workterm
my mindset is still not on school yet and i know i'm not the only one
on the upside school work is getting done so it's no prob
i just really miss the free spirited and simple life of being a nomad :)

to add to the list:

13. i keep looking the wrong way (which is our right way) when crossing the street. don't feel like being road-kill like all those kangaroos and possums
14. standing on the left side of the escalator always tend to piss someone off. in Toronto i got tapped on the shoulder three times in one day to stand on the other side.
15. have to remember to keep to the right side as a pedestrian
16. "flip-flops" instead of "tongs"
17. "rent" instead of "hire"
18. "jacket" instead of "jumper"
19. "drunk" instead of "pissed"
