| yeah, four cats... we named the little black and tabby fluffy one rafa. she's the calmer of the two. the white and tabby one is tiptop the terrorist. he's rambunctious. ^_^ nox has decided that he likes them much, and will look for them if he can't see them. gold kitty doesn't like 'em yet, but she'll be within inches without hissing, growling, or running now! i actually got all four of them to play together, which is pretty much a breakthrough for gold kitty. :) they're so little, and active, and adorable. i'm excited. wait, but they have fleas. and that kinda sucks. but i'm still excited.

| we have kittens. two new, adorable kittens. one of them is mostly white, with gray tabby spots, and i think it's a boy. the other is mostly black, with gray tabbyish here and there, and i think it's a girl. it's long haired, the white one's shorter hair... soon, i will have for you pictures. i declare it! like, really, they're freakin' adorable. and they might have fleas, but i bathed them in dawn earlier, so hopefully they're gone? nox and gold kitty do NOT appreciate them in the least... but... guys, they're so cute.

| last wednesday? maybe? i went to get my scooter from the car lot. tommy had me drive it around the block, see if i would be able to ride it to work. going straight was just fine! stopping? not too bad. turning...? not so much okay. i turned at a stop sign, started going a bit faster than i wanted and not straight enough... almost hit the side of a car in the oncoming lane, fell, and was slightly hurt... everyone nearby stopped to make sure i was okay, including the lady i almost hit (who was very glad that i hadn't) and a guy who said he rode a motorcycle and had seen it coming when i started going, and told me not to let this one time scare me, i just needed practice. i did not, of course, ride the scooter to work. (i'd thought it was a bad idea anyhow, and i'm kinda glad i almost hit a car, if that's what it took for me to not drive to work that day.) someone delivered it to our apartment, and i practiced the next day, driving around in club hill. i was scared to try at first, but i started getting the hang of it pretty quick! i got up eaaaaarly friday morning, to go to the hardaway parking lot to drive around there. i very quickly got bored there, and before i knew it i had driven the back way to the college! i even got up to 30 mph on the way back (ten had seemed scary the day before). and then yesterday, i drove to the mall! tommy drove behind me in the car, but i drove to the mall! now i've been on a big road! and i went like 35! it all seems like small success, but i can make turns without almost stopping, and without my feet. i can go over speed bumps, but i've learned that if i go over them fast, they'll unseat me. riding a scooter is much more like riding a horse than i originally thought -- the balance i learned for that, and the feeling for where this huge thing under me is going have come in handy. i've learned that steering is partially determined by my weight shifting, and that if i try to move where my butt is on the seat, i better be ready to counterbalance myself, 'cuz it WILL move in a direction...
it's so much fun though! i can feel the wind, and i can smell everything! it's vulnerable feeling when big cars pass (somebody told me that their wife had a scooter, and the draft from an 18wheeler's passing knocked the scooter straight over -- scary), i really can feel the effects of any nonsmall or nonslow car on my balance. but it's fun!
yesterday and today are my days off this week. i open tomorrow, wednesday, and friday, and i close thursday and saturday.
