  • Pray

    Pray.

This is not a request. This is a requirement.

Do you know God? Do you talk to Him?

Do you let God know you? Do you let Him talk to you?

Prayer is not a side note in Christianity. Prayer is how we relate to our Creator God...how we tell the Spoken Word thank you for coming to earth in a man-suit...how we are filled constantly with the very Breath of God.

Prayer is not a last resort. Prayer is how we stay on guard against the attacks to come...we know they will come...we know they are many.

Prayer is not a shopping list. Prayer is about spending time with the Trinity...a time of silence just to be in His presence...so much so that we can't help but ask for whatever is on the Father's heart, to the glory of the Son, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

So much is going on in my life and in the lives of my friends and family around me.

    Pray.

So many people are hurting and confused, finding it difficult just to face another day.

    Pray.

So much of what I know has proven to be backwards, even completely wrong.

    Pray.

So many are sick, wounded, oppressed, angry, hungry, tired, weary and helpless.

    Pray.

The warfare is heavy, the warriors are few.

What kind of soldier lays down to take a nap on the battlefield when his brothers and sisters are wounded, saying, "We're going to win the war, what's one battle?"

Why is it that more of us excuse ourselves from battle, saying, "God wins...what's the big deal?"

    Pray.

  • "Gentlemen, I forgot what you 'fellas' looked like..."

(Liv Tyler as "Faye", That Thing You Do).

It's sad that it's not so celebrated anymore, being a gentleman, but what're you gonna do? I think it started with women in the '20's, perhaps. That was the first sign of trouble. Then again in the late '60's, I suppose. Women stopped being ladies. Stupid women ruined it for us "old-fashioned" kind. They begged for equal rights, which I'm still back and forth on as far as if I think it's a good thing or not, then they scoffed at men for being gentlemen and it was all downhill from there. So, now men are afraid to do gentlemanly things, never knowing if the woman will be offended or appreciative. So, now ladies like myself find it difficult to find that kind of respect. What a vicious cycle it has become! Now, in order to keep a hypothetical guy's attention, a hypothetical lady must resort to unladylike things. If I sound irritated at all, you would be correct in assuming so. Recently, I have become so fed up with sex and nudity publicized EVERYWHERE. You just can't escape from it. And to find a guy who has enough self-respect and self-control to refuse to degrade a woman (even if it's only in his mind---"as a man thinketh...") is like finding a needle in a haystack. Honestly...And I know it's just as bad that a woman doesn't respect herself, but each individual has to make that choice to keep himself pure, in thought and deed. I know I'm beating a dead horse. I may be naive. In fact, I'm sure I am. But I'd rather retain what innocence and purity of heart I have left than sell-out to the notion that I must become a mere object for the pleasure of a man's insatiable sex appetite. From wandering eyes to depraved thought to an unclean heart, it continues on. Where does it end?
