More stuff

We haven't seen any signs of progresssion in the last couple days, we've tried to get him to give us another thumbs up, some times his thumb will move a little, but that's all.  He is more consistently responsive to my voice though, when his heart and breathing go faster I can talk to him, tell him where he is and he'll slow down.  I have to remind myself again and again that the Neurosurgeon said it would be inconsistent at first.  No one knows how long, "at first" will last though.

Medically, his progression is great,  all his vital signs, are good, and consistent. 

Just as he was 53 days ago he is in God's hands, just as he was 63, 73 or 203 days ago. It's easy to recognize that Michael is in God's hands, it's still easy to recognize that his very life as well as the quality of  his life is in God's hands.  For all of us, well, some times we forget that we are just as much in his hands. Just as God  holds Michael's future, he holds yours and mine.  As I pray for Michael to recover, that God would allow him to be able to tell his story, I also pray that we will understand and be more aware that God is in control and with a love beyond our understanding Jesus Christ gives us our next breath.

I'm working, very slowly but working on a new website for Michael's update and a place for us to share prayer requests.  I've exported all the comments from this site to that one.

There is a lot of power in love! There is power in the love that we have in our family, there is power in the love of people in this community and the love of friends. There is power in the love that Connie and I have for each other, there's power in the love that we all have for Michael. Way beyond this is the pure power, pure love that Jesus Christ has for each of us. Maybe absolute power only comes from absolute love.

Sunday Night

Saturday's weblog had not been public, I hesitate at times to tell you some things that happen.  But, I think that you're praying for Michael you should be able to be encouraged too.  Just remember, we've been told again and again and again.. progression from a head injury is slow, it is inconsistent - hit and miss- it will take time for his brain to heal and re map to from the parts that won't heal. So, with that take a look at what happened Saturday.

Today had some very exciting moments!!!  Michael did a thumbs up,  yeah that's right, Christine asked him to stick his thumb up and he did. Michael often has his fists clenched and never has his fingers extended.  It is usually difficult to stretch them out, so him straightening his thumb out is a big deal. 

It started a little bit earlier, I coaxed him into opening his mouth and sticking out his tongue. Next, the nurse was brushing his teeth, which he is known by all to hate, he clinches his jaw closed. I talked to him, told him it would taste good, he relaxed his jaw and let her brush away.  A few minutes  later his mom was talking to him, asked if he could straighten his thumb out, I held his hand and told him it was me, then he gave us his thumbs up sign. 

The bad thing about this situation it is so in consistent, as the Neurologists said they are inconsistent. It's frustrating to see these things and no one else see them, then they don't get documented.  We need them documented so he will be accepted at a local rehab place.

I miss you my son my son!  I want you to come home!  I want you to see the new church and cool it is for Synergy.  I want so much for you to be able to give your story now.  You can have such an amazing opportunity.  I hope you're giving it all to God now!!!
