Name: Lanna
Gender: Female

Interests: I'm a hippie. A modern day hippie who eventually wants a root cellar and a killer garden next year. I use cloth diapers, breastfeed, plan to homeschool, garden, and cook. Lots of cooking.
Expertise: I forget to water the garden (looking forward to drip irrigation!) and procrastinate doing dishes and folding laundry. I've actually turned into a darn good cook, and I get to extract duplos and other toys from speakers and recliners. Plan to have the house organized and not so cluttered by the time the kids move out.

Strawberries and a sunburn

That about sums up my day so far.

21 pounds of strawberries.  A sunburn a few places where I didn't/forgot to put sunscreen.  Yes, I was the woman sitting on hay in the strawberry patch, calmly nursing a babe while watching strangers pick berries a few times.

We'll see what I do with 'em...  there's a few things I still need to do/make/can...  Canned strawberry lemonade concentrate, more freezer jam, frozen whole strawberries, frozen sliced strawberries (maybe, we'll see), strawberry pie topping, and something else I think I'm forgetting.

I have baby cauliflowers!

Yes, that's right, inside all the leafiness there are some little baby cauliflower heads growing!  Yippee!!  Camera batteries are all dead though, so no photo today.

Took the kids - all three of them - to the strawberry farm yesterday.
Yup, I was completely outnumbered.
Yup, I took the bike trailer and mei tai.
Yup, I only managed to pick 6.23 pounds of strawberries.
But it's a start, that's all that matters.  And we got out of the house, somewhat successfully I might add.  Kids went to sleep pretty easy last night which was nice.  All the running around and picking red (4.5yo) and green (2yo) strawberries wore 'em out.

The 6.23lbs from Greenbluff...

The probably 1-2lbs I picked from the yard last night before it started pouring/thunderstorming.

All turned into this.  More jam making today I think, just need to go find some clean freezer jars.  And I need to package up the IQF strawberries into baggies, too.

Her little facial expressions just crack me up.  So darned cute.

Yup, her favorite place.  Pretty much what I look like right now.

For Laura

Strawberry, gold raspberry, blackberry seedless, raspberry seedless, raspberry.

All from last year.  I see a little bit of discoloration on the top of the strawberry and gold raspberry, but I think that may be more user error than anything (see how I didn't quite make it to the 1/2" mark on the first 3 jars?).  But the color looks about the same as store-bought jam I think - I haven't eaten store-bought jam in so long because it tastes and smells and looks awful to me.

Well then

Apparently I've jumped off the tech bandwagon here at my advanced age.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to change my header.  I used to click a few links on the editing/home page, and viola!  Changed layout or whatever.  Now?  I can figure out how to find and edit subscribers and add photos and all that jazz, but can't find the blasted link to get the baby ticker down.  *sigh*  I'm getting old.
