| When you left for college, I packed my suitcases and plastic bins, loaded up the car and was on my way. Every year when school was done, I had to pack up the dorm or apt, store my things, etc. And when I moved to VA, I packed everything up again in my boxes and bins. I am a procrastinator...and when it came to packing I would take my time. my sweet sweet time. well, once again i find i have to move, but its different. why? because i literally will be carrying everything over to my new apt. it kinda stinks, because i dont want to have to pack EVERYTHING up like above, only to move it down a flight a stairs, over 2 buildings, and back up a flight of stairs. I'd rather just transplant my mess of an apt(and it sure is a mess), to my new apt! but i suppose the 1 thing i could do is clean up my apt, that way i can just move move move. anyways, since i've never done this type of moving before, i cant really estimate how long it will take. my initial thinking is, why pack AND move as 2 seperate things, when i can just do it as one! I was hoping to have the keys to the new apt on fri, but it's looking like i won't get it until sat evening at the latest. so, i may need some help sunday afternoon....but i sure hope not. i also hope my shoulder doesn't act up, because that will not make lifting things fun! ok back to cleaning........ | | |
| road etiquetteso I've made the drive to NC a few times. its about a 4hr drive, give or take traffic and pitstops(sonic!). its a much nicer drive than philly or nyc...much less traffic and no tolls! anyways, one of the things i do to pass the time is analyze the cars in front and behind. im always keeping tabs seeing if a car behind me wants to pass or me seeing if i can/need to pass the car in front of me. unfortunately, not every driver recognizes this. when its a 2 lane highway, if youre in the left lane youre supposed to a) being go fast, and b) let people behind you pass if theyre going faster. usually i drive up and let the person behind know that i want to pass...i dont tailgate agressively but just enough to let them know. its nice whe cars realize this and move over and let me pass, and its even nicer when the cars realize this before i need to let them know. but sometimes, you have cars that dont realize this and keep driving in the left lane and never move over to the right lane. now they might be going "faster" than the right lane, but when its clear theyre goign too slow in the left lane, they suck it up and move over, or go faster. when i get really bored, i try and hype the road up and pretend its a race trick, and think all the cars are drifting each other and i think of passing lanes. haha this reminded me when i first started driving and had my permit. i thought driving was boring(still kinda do) and so i would make race car noises when i accelerated or on turns haha. my mom didnt like that. i get to move this weekend....two apt buildings over haha. i kept the same apt number and street, just a different address haha. anyways, saving money is nice. thats all i got for now i think! | | |
| bizayhaha wow its been a busy month! i havent forgotten about xanga...just havent set aside time to post. memorial week i went down to new orleans again with people from my church, ike and justin came down too though! it was good time. i helped demolish this ladies old house that had been damaged by katrina and was condemned. anyways, heres a short youtube clip i made for church a few weeks ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fP9Fh7Dl4PU the week after we got back I got sick...campylo bacteria or somthing. had stomach problems and fevers....couldnt quite figure out what caused it too. oh well. week after that weekend i went to north carolina with paul to visit julie.... last weekend i went up past RPI into maryland for my friends wedding. it was interesting, as the town was super small, and it was out in the middle of nowhere sorta. i got to see my college buddies again, as the majority of us havent been together since october when they came to DC. this weekend i finally got to stay in and just hang out and relax a lil! ive also decided to be 40yr old virgin like and bike to work a few times during the week. my 1.1 mile commute is super fun. the breeze as you pedal is pretty cool, and i love this new bike i got. its from REI, and is called "metro". not because its for metrosexuals ahem, but its meant for urban/commuting types. its not a road bike, not a mountain bike, so its a hybrid. its got front and seat suspensions, a lighter aluminum frame, and it has...a BELL!!! ding ding hahah. anyways, thats what i spent my tax rebate check that i have yet to receive on. and now i should go to bed.......zzzzzzzzzzz i shall try and update more often. | | |
| howdyI haven't been xanga-ing a whole lot recently. Not sure if thats because I don't have things to say, or I've been to busy. Life has been interesting lately(i think i said that already...) everyday is a trip. learning about myself and how to handle a relationship haha. but ill spare you the details. work has suprisingly slowed down. our client has been rethinking the work one of their contractors did for our project, and i think they may be getting rid of the contractor and their work completely. its nice because this past month i havent been nearly as stressed, but dissapointing that what ive been working on for 4 months could all go down the drain. but we'll see. more exciting things.....im going back down to new orleans next week. should be a fun time. ike and justin are coming down, and i'm definetely looking forward to what we'll be doing. rebuilding houses...but rebuilding lives as well? haha, you see what i did there? anyways, stuff needs doing. till next time... | | |
| fun timesssssssim sure youd rather read about other stuff going on in my life...but ill spare those details. anyways, im coming home this weekend. if u wanna hang out lemme know! | | |
