True freedom
We say that we live in a free country
and that we treat all with respect
but these things that we say are lies
and the promises we make are not kept
People come to our country
in hopes of being tuly free
but we do not welcome them as we should
instead we become a place where they do not wish to be
We think that we have made progress
and we are proud of the way we live
but these things that we have become proud of
are things which lead to sin
Yes proud of all the money we have
and of all the things we can buy
but this money we have become proud of
has caused much hurt and pain in many lives
we think that we know everything
and that we do not need a god
but we are very sadly mistaken
for even the simplest of things we do not know
Like how to help a neighbor
when they are going through a hard time
no matter where they may be from
because they are beautiful in God's eyes
Yes they call us americans
and we live in a country that by law is said to be free
But true freedom this country will not have
untill we take the time to help the least of these |
