What's Goin' OnQuote of the Day: "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." Thomas Edison It's been a long time since I've posted (about three weeks?), probably the longest break I've ever had. Here's what's been going on: -- My band Leadwood Folk has just one more song to finish and then our album is done (it will be anywhere from 10-12 songs). Instead of naming a release date, I 'll just put it like this: If we get the last song done this week (and it's already about 75% done) then more than likely we will have copies of it by May 1st. -- My grandfather has had acute myelogenous leukemia since September of 2006. It's a very awful disease to say the least, and he's had around seven different chemotherapy treatments lasting one or two weeks a piece; I think he's spent somewhere close to two hundred days in the hospital since he was diagnosed. Chemotherapy isn't helping anymore and he's in hospice, so I've been going home to Missouri a lot lately to see him. Here's a picture of me and my sister Sarah with my grandfather while he was still in the hospital: It's pretty sad, I think that's why every song I've written in the last few months has been depressing or lovelorn. The "lovelorn" part really isn't a story for the Internet, I guess. At least not for now. Not for now, Ryan King |
