Wears a lot of makeup and clunky jewelry

Very strong long island or jersey accent

Completely brilliant and well spoken

Skinny Italian man with a delicate frame and an adorable accent.

Likes to make obscure philosophy jokes

Put someone else's picture up on the biography section of his website.

Has crazy philosphy professor hair

hullo xanga, haven't written in you for a while....

so this entry is kind of a rant because i need to get this off my chest.

i consider myself a feminist and really have faith in my sex and all, but i HATE it when, for example, you have a debate with guys concerning sexual rights and you feel like you're the only one speaking up. ESPECIALLY when you know for a fact that the other female agrees with you and would have spoken up in private. I really hate it when women acquiesce to a man's opinion, because god forbid if he mistakens her for one of them radical feminists and consequently does not think her cute anymore. I mean, i'll admit, I sometimes do it too (and get really mad at myself when i do). But i think for the most part, i at least try to stand up for myself and my sex, EVEN if it makes me look unfeminine. But honestly, sometimes, i really just don't care about seeming feminine or cute. Like, if you're strong, show it dammit. Like, if you punch a guy on the arm, don't wimp out and pretend that's the best you can do. I mean, maybe i go overboard when i (jokingly) hit guys, but I feel like I have to make up for the countless other feigned punches that women sometimes give.

and also, i really can't stand it when women are sometimes like "me a feminist? do i believe in sexual equality? nononooooo....I want a guy to open my doors and provide for me". Like being a feminist is some sort of disease that you have that wards away all potential suitors. I mean, you don't necessarily have to believe in all the precepts of feminism, but YOU'RE ON OUR TEAM!. It's like, if you're anti-war, you should still support our troops in the sense that you are concerned with their welfare and wish them a speedy and safe return.

I don't want to imply that women in general are by any means solely concerned with finding a man (or woman) or that that is the only reason for not expressing one's opinions. But i think that is the case often enough (because a little part of me feels the same way) where it's kind of a problem. Goodness knows, I am totally guilty of what I condemn. But it doesn't mean I have to be content with that.

Let me just preface this weblog entry by saying that the LINX girls are AMAZING!!!!!!! haha- soooo sore though. I think my gelatinous body needs a rest.

O Xanga, how i've neglected you so. I haven't written many entries since i've gotten the account. Alas, my boring, crappy GPA, low funds life doesn't provide me with much inspiration. :) Anywho, sigh, a nice relaxing weekend after the craaaazy week. Oh- and I saw Betsy Johnson in NYC the other day. My sister and I were cabbing it downtown and at a stop light she tried to get in our cab, thinking we were getting out. So not only did she speak to us, but we got to REFUSE her- we were like "Sorry BJ, you're not getting in our cab, but if you have your people call our people we might be able to work somethin out!" Haha- i'm such a DORK! and I'm kind of big on inner monologues :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! (to me). Haha. AND SHARON!!! wooohoo. Being 20 is ok i guess. THAT much closer to being 21 :) Not that i'm a raging alcoholic, but I feel like it would open all sorts of doors into adulthood. Like I can order a glass of wine with dinner and feel all refined and LEGAL. And on my license I can face FORWARD in my picture (as is mandated by NJ law) and be all like, "hello world! serve me a drink!"

But I get ahead of myself. So it's been pretty good. I got to see my girls!!! Aww, didn't get to see natalie though. And everyone's been really great about wishing me a happy bday. And i'm eagerly awaiting what sort of wonderful concoction phil has made. ooooooh. Will keep you posted on that :)

oh my god- xanga IS addictive! this is only my second entry and i can already feel the draw of the xanga, beckoning me, calling me to make weblog full and my background sparkly. apparently i'm not a very good listener, as my site is still shabby. but at least now i've got some color, a picture, AND 2 whole web entries. yeehaw.

o my legs are sore. i went running after letting myself get amorphously out of shape and then running around selling doughnuts. can i just say that i'm really glad to have all those krispy kremes sold (for a LINX fundraiser). me and michelle took a couple of boxes and hit up EC, wien, and mcbain, going to every floor lounge and any rooms with open doors. and can i say that i love you, john whoever-you-are. he bought 7 doughnuts in total yesterday (2 from mich and me) !!
