I've been tagged by Momsaway58 to do this little exercise. And when I'm done, you can all consider yourselves tagged, too. 

1.  What I was doing 10 years ago:

Hmmm... I was pregnant with my third child, moving from the "big city" out to the country, still trying to figure out what I wanted to do when I grow up.  I don't remember much else.

2.  Five things on my list to do today:

- Finish a story I've been working on for a week. (Done!  Go me!)

- Go to the grocery store. (Half-assed done. Still have to go back before the week's out)

- Catch up on laundry.  (Not even close)

- Follow up on a bunch of things at work. (Didn't even touch that list. Gah.)

- Send back our latest Netflix movie. (YES!)

3. Three things I would do if I were a billionaire:

- Throw it all in a big pile and roll around in it.

- Buy stuff.

- Buy other people stuff. (It's fun being generous, I just rarely have the opportunity without screwing something else up.)

4.  Three of my bad habits:

- Wishful thinking. I do it a lot.

- Smoking. Shouldn't but do.

- Procrastinating on damn near everything.

5.  Places I've lived:

A funeral home, my grandparents' home, multiple apartments, two trailers, three houses and a sleazy motel once for a few weeks.  For cities, that would be Columbus, Grove City, Whitehall, Commercial Point and Ashville.

6.  Jobs I've had:

McDonalds drive-thru cashier, typist, executive secretary, insurance agent/broker, customer service rep, freelance writer, freelance webmaster, stay-at-home mom and newspaper reporter.

7.  People I want to know more about:

All of you. 

Don't you love the way I seem to pop in at random intervals and then disappear for months on end?  I wish there was something exciting like alien abduction to blame, but unfortunately it's just busy around here.

I thought I'd take a moment to share Maria with you, though.  You can't pass up this kind of opportunity when it presents itself. 

...the crying began.  It lasted for nearly a year.

Then came the stubborn fits, the temper tantrums, the head banging.

There were also all the firsts -- the first shoes, the first Christmas, the first bike, the first boo-boo.

The first child.

Now he's 20.  I still don't understand it, since I'm only a *couple* of years older than that myself. 

But all the while, he's been my friend.
