  • Well, life had been MORE than hectic!  Not easy to take time to update when you have a 4 month old. . . especially a 4 month old that's teething. . .

Anyhow, things are going well.  We're staying in Deer Lake, which is great.  My parents are in the process of packing themselves up for their move to nunavut, and my sister will be home from Korea in a month and a half (praise the Lord).

Isaac is doing great.  He gives kisses and rolls over (stomach to back). . . he is, however, getting to be more of a handful with the teething stuff.  It's SO hard to get him settled, and I'm exhausted.  Who knew growing teeth was so difficult?  I guess anybody who has had any trouble with their wisdom teeth can empathize a bit. . .

And, that's all I can write because I must go take care of my squealing child. . .

  • life is SO busy. . . and yet I've done NOTHING.  I suppose between changing diapers, feeding, and bathing. . . not to mention trying to entertain. . . I don't get a chance to do anything else.  So, I'm busy.  And yet, everything is so mundane a lot of the time, and I'm stuck in the house, and I can't even get the laundry packed away.  . . so I've really done nothing.

Something I HAVE done. . . Brad and I took Isaac outside for his first walk today.  It was 19 degrees and the snow has melted away from the sides of the road, so we pulled out the stroller and took a stroll.  It was awesome, I'm so excited for the weather to be better, so I can get outside like that every day.  Isaac, of course, slept the whole way through it, haha.  What a lazy baby I have. . .

We are still waiting on what will be happening with us, although we shoudl know within the next week or two.  That's all I can say about that for now :)  (evil giggle)

Anyhow. . . that's my life.  All about the baby, and what a wonderful baby he is!  More later. . .

  • ok, so I promised to be back but I didn't promise that I'd get here every day, haha.  My baby keeps me busy :)

So, I took Isaac to the hospital yesterday to get weighed and stuff, and he is now 10 lbs and 1 oz.  Apparently the perfect weight for his height :)  I asked about why he seems like he's constipated and gassy all the time, and the doctor said that it's probably where he's drinking more formula.  The iron in the formula does that to babies and it takes a little bit for their bodies to adjust to the increase in doses.  Oh my. . . enough to drive ya!  Anyhow, he's doing well and everything looks good.  I must be doing SOMETHING right (despite the constant nagging of family members).

I'm currently doing english tutoring with a girl that lives in Nova Scotia.  She's from the middle east and is here trying to learn english so she can get her teaching certificate in Canada (she was a teacher in her home country).  It's pretty interesting to get to know somebody from another culture like that, we don't always get those opportunities here in Newfoundland.  She asked me yesterday about what Easter was, and why people buy chocolate for Easter.  Oh dear. . . she didn't know how complicated that question was!  haha. . . I tried to explain it as best as possible for her, though.  Hopefully I helped her to understand.  I guess I've never really thought about people not knowing about Easter and stuff. . . just goes to show what a bubble we live in here.

CONGRATS TO CRYSTO!!  YAY!!  I'm so excited that you're doing so well with your merchandise, haha. . . hopefully you'll get everything worked out and your business will take off.

Laura, I miss you, come home. . .

    Kara, enjoy your holiday!!

  • Ok, so obviously it's been forever.  Thanks, Kara, for rekindling my interest in xanga

Ok, so lots of things have happened in the past year!  Goodness. . . I think I have a different like, I'm a different person!  So, first of all, in June I got pregnant.  In September we found out that Brad had cancer, in October he had surgery and got it removed, and on Feb. 3 I had Isaac Jamie Slade.  So, that's where I am now. . . a new mother taking care of a baby.

On top of being a new mother, I am directing VBS this year for our church.  I'm pretty sure that whatever blogs I write between now and June 30th will be either about Isaac or VBS, haha.  So if you aren't interested in hearing about either, you probably aren't gonna want to read my blogs. . .

  • I'm bringing Xanga back - drop a comment if you're with me!
