| It's funny the reactions I get when people see my birthmark. It sits on and to the left of my left eye. I think it's pretty funny the first time I talk to little kids because they're not scared to hurt your feelings by saying what they really think. I've gotten "Is that a burn?" and "Did you get into a fight?" quite often. When you try to explain to little kids what a birthmark is they ask "Why would you be born with that?"
Why am I born with it? I don't know. It's funny - I got a different reaction today. I went to get a haircut at my usual SportsClips. And although sometimes they don't do such a great job, I always manage to bring myself to go back to that place because it's so close to my house. While cutting my hair, the stylist commented, "You've been kissed by an angel." I was confused at first and then quickly realized what she was talking to me about. I guess I've never thought about it that way before.
It's been with me for 21 years, 10 months, and 10 days. It will be with me for the rest of my life. Some people ask me if I have ever thought about getting it removed. Honestly, I can say no. I would never dream of the day where I didn't have my birthmark. I guess I see it as God's little gift to me to remind me that He made me. Maybe it's not a connection that you may particularly identify with, but I believe it's what makes me me. To be honest, I forget it's even there sometimes. But it's the times that people mention it to me that make me think of how special I am. It reminds me that God loves me. Silly old me with the birthmark on my eye. Now how great is that?

| Update of my life:
School is ok. Trying to pass and graduate. Last semester. Two months left... I will be working at Accenture headquartered in Dallas. I start sometime in July or August. Exciting, eh?
No, I haven't turned into "Plano." Yes, I am still a Rockets fan. Yes, I still love my city. No, I don't have any animosity towards Dallas. Yes, I think it's an ok place. Yes, I still love Sugar Land. Yes, I know we have better food. Yes, I like the people from both cities.
Need to learn how to play golf better.
Life is good. =)
The End.

| 1 helium tank...3 hours...5 crazy guys...700 balloons...and it's still only half full...
Happy 50th to my boss's boss's boss's boss...or something like that. I know she won't see this page, but I thought some of you guys would get a kick out of it. No one had a camera so I had to use my phone - sorry for the bad quality. Hopefully she'll be surprise when she walks in tomorrow morning. I'm kind of sad we didnt reach our goal of actually filling it up...seems like we needed around 1400 balloons to get that done...Sigh, next time. =P Note: the lights on the ceiling are actually on, but there's so many balloons that you can't really tell. Haha. |
