Hey all....well, it's been a long time since I've updated....so here it goes.   Let's see....not much to update on....I'm still in the Army...surprise surprise....and I'm still in Korea.  In September I went to Vietnam for 2 weeks....it was a great experience.  I was able to meet my extended family whom I haven't seen in 20 years.  I met all my cousins and aunts and uncles and my grandmom.  I have to say that I come from a pretty big family....in all, I have at least 30 cousins...and most of them are younger then me.  It was fun playing with all of them....I really miss them though. It was kinda of hard at first to communicate with them since my Vietnamese kinda sucks....but it improved throughout my stay there....and luckily two of my cousins were able to speak a little English.  My stay in Vietnam also opened up my eyes to how fortunate I am....I've realized that I have taken a lot of things in my life for granted.  I use to not be ambitious....I always took things as they came and always relied on Lady Luck to act in my favor....but now I have a goal in life to work towards and that is to become financially secure so I can help support my family back in Vietnam.  Well...anyways....I've got 87 more days left in Korea.  I'll be going to Fort Jackson, South Carolina for my next duty station.....hopefully it'll be a pretty easy job...who knows.  Ok....that's all for now.....pictures below for your viewing pleasure.

my 6 year old cousin, Hanh....she's really adorable

me and my cousin Thu....she's gonna be a college freshman this year in Saigon .....I'm so proud of her

me and my cousin Han.....she's a sweetheart....whenever I played with her, I was afraid of breaking her because she's soo skinny....I could give her a piggy-back ride all day and not break a sweat

Well....that's all for now....hope you enjoyed the pics....there will be more when I have time....bbye.

Well...I finished up my Combat Life Saver (CLS) course this week.  Now I am certified to apply first aid to people and also to give IV's to people....haha.  At first I didn't think I'd be able to stick someone with a needle...but it turned out to be  not  so bad.  Monday...I'll be going out to Gunnery for two weeks....so I'll be away from civilization for a while.  Let's see....not much else to update on....so take care everyone.....bbye.

my IV partner....notice how clean the IV went in

now notice how unclean my IV went in...hahaha

Been soo busy lately....so haven't had much time to update.  Went to Seoul last weekend and met  up with Will and his friend Jason.  Did all kinds of touristy stuff.  First we went to visit the N Tower....had to take a gondola up to it....it was pretty cool but the weather sucked.  Then we went to visit the Royal Palace....it was ok.....nothing really caught my attention.  While on the Palace grounds we also visited the Folk Museum there....actually...we didn't really look around...just went there to sit down.  After that we walked around the city.....then Jason went home to rest because he wasn't feeling well.  Will and I went to go eat...then went to a department store and Krispy Kream.  Walked around some more....then went to Jason's place....chilled there for a while...then we all went to a sauna/public bath.  It's a pretty cool experience if you don't mind seeing a bunch of naked men walking around....hahaha.  We were there for a couple of hours...then Will and Jason left cause Will had to catch a flight the next day and Jason had to work the next day.  I decided to sleep overnight at the sauna....hahaha....beats paying for a motel room.  And that was my weekend.

Spring is almost here....or is it here already??....anyways....trees are starting to blossom here in Korea and it's starting to look beautiful.  I never realized how many cherry blossoms were on post.  In addition to it being spring....monsoon season is also near....which means I'll have my hands tied doing flood countermeasures....haha....oh well....I like the rain.  Well...it looks like I'm gonna try and visit Vietnam this August....I'm gonna meet my parents down there and I'm finally gonna get to meet my relatives....should be fun.  Anyways...not much else to update on....living a pretty non-exciting existence....can't wait to return home.....about another 8 1/2 more months to go.  That's all for now...later folks.

My nieces and nephew (Amanda, Andrea, and Anthony)

Andrea....she's such a cutie....she's gonna be a heartbreaker one day....haha.

I must admit that my time here is going by pretty quickly.  Even though it's fun being over here....I still can't wait to return to the US and see my family and friends.  Haven't been down to Seoul in a while so I think I'm going to try to make it down there this weekend.  I recently opened a Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) the other day....I'm finally trying to save money instead of waste it all on booze...hahaha.  I'm also looking into opening a Roth IRA and investing in some mutual funds.....anybody have any advice on either of these matters??  Also need to save money for a vacation trip to Vietnam.....hopefully if things work out, I'll be going there this August.  On another note....I just found my class picture from 8th grade....haha...miss those days.  See if you can find me in the picture.

Here's a pic of all the officers including myself in my company.

Well....that's all for now....until the next post....see y'all later.
