Parts of me covertly rebel, and just when I least expect it, they take charge. &lt;U&gt;I've tried everything and nothing helps&lt;/U&gt;. I'm at the end of my rope. &lt;U&gt;Is there no one who can do anything for me? Isn't that the real question?&lt;/U&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face=Century&gt;The answer, thank God, is that Jesus Christ can and does. He acted to set things right in this life of contradictions where I want to serve God with all my heart and mind, but am pulled by the influence of sin to do somehting totally different."&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

Work was swell, Jack discovered that there are 2 versions of Beowulf that is either out&amp;nbsp;or coming to theaters&amp;nbsp;in the next 2 yearsears--YAY! One's a foreign film (it's been in theaters since 2005 in Canada, Iceland, and the UK and was just shown in a film festival in Palm Springs on Jan 6th) and the other is from the director of Forrest Gump (in 2007).&amp;nbsp;They look&amp;nbsp;very interesting.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

First test of the semester and I made a high B--*sigh* it's gonna be a great semester in Walker's class &lt;IMG height=15 src="http://www.xanga.com/Images/pleased.gif" width=15&gt; haha (side note: I made a 74% on my first exam last semester...a high B is looking great!)&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

Why does our student participation suck? Because no one goes to things because they know no one else will go AND IT BECOMES A CONTINUOUS DEADLY&amp;nbsp;CYCLE OF&amp;nbsp;ZERO ATTENDANCE&amp;nbsp;BY THE STUDENT BODY because no one wants to go because they know no&amp;nbsp;one goes so they don't go....&lt;IMG height=15 src="http://www.xanga.com/Images/winky.gif" width=15&gt;&amp;nbsp;It makes sense once you think about it. &lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="Century Gothic"&gt;So what can we do? How can we get our student body involved in activities? And an even bigger question, WHY is our student body like this? Is it because we feel tied down by the faculty? the alumni? or is it just because we simply don't give a flip?! I honestly believe that half this student body doesn't think the alumni/regents/faculty really care. Now, there are a few faculty members who want to help and encourage student involvement...but as a whole, we don't feel supported.&amp;nbsp;We don't feel as if the faculty/regents/alumni really care that we don't have a place where we can go at anytime to study, to meet, to hang out, to eat, and whatever else we want to do. They don't care that we don't have a lot of activities like other schools have--WE'VE ONLY HAD OUR &lt;U&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;OWN&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/U&gt; HOMECOMING FOR 2 YEARS!! Is that not pathetic to anyone else? I mean seriously... *sigh* *counting to 10*&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="Century Gothic"&gt;All I'm saying is that if we want student involvement, we need to find the source of why our students are so standoffish. Maybe we're just following what those "above" us are doing..."they don't really support us, so why should we support the school?"&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="Century Gothic"&gt;*Side note: this may be a little to the extreme...but I just couldn't keep it in any longer. I guess my family really misses me because my grandparents are visiting me Tuesday night for dinner and to hang out. Then in a couple of weeks my sisters are wanting to come visit! So exciting! Anyhoo, we went to the deaf coffee chat last night (oh yes, my parents went with me) and they had a great time! They were really sociable and remembered how to spell their names and introduce themselves--I'm so proud of them!&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Tonight I went to IHOP in Moore and hung out with Janiece (man, I miss that girl!), Brittany, Jennifer, Josh, Kyle, and Tyler. It was lots of fun and I wish I could have stayed longer! I think we're going to start making it a monthly ordeal, more info for those who want to know later :) &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Right now, I'm in Kristen's house hanging out with my bestest friends Kristen and Jess....I'm so blessed to have these girls in my life. They make it so wonderful and loads of fun. Thank You, Lord, for Mandy's honesty and realness. Thank You for her trust and her love. Thank You for blessing me with her life...&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
