| TODAY WAS AWESOME!yup, today was AWESOME!!!
my HIGHLIGHT of my day was:
adv alg: i was late again. LOL. however, when i took the test for the class, i UNDERSTOOD everything. <i really need this grade, or i get an F for the quarter -_-;>
ro: so, today was mile run. at first, i was so nervous since i haven't ran for a year. i was thinking, would i be able to run this mile without walking?. LOL. so, first i stretched with raymond chan and warmed up our heart-rate. then we ran the mile. YAY! 8:17! <2nd fastest time, fastest time was 8:01> i was so proud of myself because i did not have to stop. although, i was dead tired afterwards but my adreneline was running high. it felt GOOD. LOL
at 11/12: i had fun hanging out with steven, pamela, and melvin in the battalion office. LOL, thanks to steven for helping me sew on my Hapkido patch on my uniform <I REALLY DIDNT KNOW HOW TO SEW WELL!> LOL. talking with them was REALLY fun. LOL
dp practice: the most touching thing that the veterans and new veterans said to me CASUALLY <when we were working in ranks> was:
eric chu: we are all vets here! tinny: err. sir, i am not a veteran... eric diep: she is a 1.5 comper. <2 compers are veterans, i was a substitute in freshman year> eric chu: WE consider you as a vet tinny: 0_0 <i think i was about to cry there> eric diep: WE ROUND YOU UP! lauren: YEAH! YOU ARE ONE OF US!
i felt so good when they said it. it really made me feel that my opinions were accepted. more than that, i had so much fun today at dp practice.
MARTIAL ARTS TEST! <BEST HIGHLIGHT OF MY DAY!>
so i was running like 5 mins late. i was suppose to be there at like 7:00 sharp. it was like 7:05 and i was like "Sh*T" i was on the 45 bus and it doesnt go all the way to the studio. i had to run like 4 blocks down to the school. and when i finally made it, i was relieved that they waited for me. LOL. everyone looked great. lol. we all had to test from the yellow belt tests all the way to the belt test that we are going for. i was going for blue belt <6 level> so i did all the tests prior to mine. REALLY TIRING! kicks, rolls, falls, some techniques, randori <attacks coming from multiple opponents>, throws; even had myself thrown like garbage since the guy <going for his purple belt, 5th level> was too tall and the girl<going for her green belt, 4th level> could not support my weight. so i got slammed into the ground. did not hurt very much <thank goodness for learning how to fall properly>...so here is a conversation before my test:
tinny: <still out of breath from the previous belt testing> jt <going for purple>: <finished his techniques> mr. machnashe: jt, we gonna have you do throws. you are JUST too tall. hmm.. tinny looks like the appropriate candidate. tinny: <tinny thinking: crap> <still out of breath> <gets up> audience: LOL LOL! jt is like twice my height. LOL. after i finished working with jt for his belt test. heres the NEXT LINE OF THE CONVERSATION!
mr. machnashe: everyone give these two a hand. audience: <clapclap> mr. machnashe: tinny, go adjust your uniform, you are going next tinny: <tinny thinking: already?!> audience: LOL
so i did my test, i was completely exhausted. got muscle cramps in my legs. but i still went on. just when i thought my test was over, IT WAS NOT OVER. turns out there was a little surprise for me. HE CAME OUT WITH A BOARD. it was not part of my belt requirement. lol, this time, the board was stronger than i expected, even much harder than the board that i kicked previously, even harder than that two inch thick board> this was the conversation:
tinny: <completely out of breath> mr. machnasche: tinny, stay there for a second: mr. ruel <also an instructor> : <comes up to me> tinny, you did very well, you got this. tinny: <nods> <wondering where did mr. machnasche go> mr. machnashe: <comes out from the office holding a BOARD!> tinny: omgosh...LOL! <leaning on mr. ruel for moral support> <completely exhausted> audience: WHOA!. LOL! mr.machnashe: I CAN VERIFY THAT THIS IS A REAL BOARD. mr. ruel: we got this from loew's! tinny: hahaha! mr. machnashe: power and strength has nothing to break this board. the only way you gonna break this board is by good technique. i suggest you break it by using a stepping side kick. tinny: <still trying get over the exhaustion> mr. machnashe: now tinny, mr. ruel and i need our fingers. DO NOT KICK OUR FINGERS. we need our fingers to work! audience: LOL tinny: alright. mr. machnashe: <takes out a pen> KICK IN THE MIDDLE! we NEED our fingers. LOL <marking and X on the board> audience: LOL tinny: alright. mr. machnashe: when ready. tinny: KYAHH!< kicks and misses the board> damn! one more time. mr. machnashe: tinny, you looked away from the board and just kicked me in the fingers. KYAHHH! before you begin. tinny: <takes a deep breath> KYAHHHHHH!!!!!!<KICKS THE BOARD IN HALF!!> audience: WHOO!!!! <clap clap> OW! OW! OW! WHOO! <various types of cheering> mr. machnashe: haha stand in the middle. everyone give her a hand audience: <clap clap>
that was the end of my test. afterwards, all the testers recieved congratulations and words of well done. the feeling after the test <as for me> was wonderful. i felt amazing. its the achievement of what i had done to get to this. i just felt damn proud. haha the raw wood from the board break cut the side of my ankle, took me a while to realize it. wow, the test took like an hour an a half --------------------------------------------------- haha. LOTS OF PT TODAY. running the mile, running four blocks down to the martial arts school, kicking the boards, went through lots of belt tests. and did very well in all of them. and of course the wonderful words i recieved today. today was just simply amazing. |
