Yes!  Discovery lives again!  I know some people think the space program is a waste of time and taxpayer dollars, but I don't care.  The exploration of space is America's contribution to the advancement of mankind.  I still believe that there are a lot of things we need to take care of here at home (by "home" I mean the Earth) but we're America!  We can multitask!  Ok, enough exclamation points.  The space program provides scientific research that cannot be conducted anywhere else, including medicine, plus it promotes international cooperation.  What else can give you a sense of patriotism and human unity at the same time?  Besides, when the time comes and the U.S. is no more, our flag will be on the Moon, our machines will be on Mars.  What are the pyramids, Stonehenge, or the Colosseum to that?

Finally, my brother has sent new pictures of my nephew.  In that first pic I posted he was only three days old, but here he is in all his nearly-two-month-old cuteness:

Man, I tell ya.  You ask a guy to send pictures, and he sends one picture.  So, here is the picture I have of my nephew, Brandon.  This pic was taken when he was 3 days old, so his face still looks bruised.  As soon as I get a picture of him awake, or with my brother, or something, I'll post it, too.
(Ok, this is what I hate about blogs.  There's no tone of voice!  I meant all that to be sarcastically making fun of my brother, not to be angry.  But when I read it, it *sounded* angry.  Anway, here's Brandon...)

So everybody, I'm an Aunt now!  My brother has a new baby boy.  His name is Brandon.  This is so freaking weird.  I haven't seen him yet cause they're still in the Philippines.  Hopefully they'll make it home before I leave.  I don't have any pictures because they don't have internet, so I don't even know what he looks like!  But as soon as I know, you'll know.
