Well, I took the Yankee candle picture off even though I did think it was hilarious.  I guess after my husband accidentally emailed it to several little old ladies in our church, I no longer find it as hilarious as I did.

It's been snowing here all day.  No school for the kiddos tomorrow, I'm sure.  Samuel is loving now, but he'll be whining when they have to make up the days in June!

Oh my goodness.  How nice it is to laugh until you cry.  My cousin Todd sent this to me this morning, unaware of what a candle freak I am.  I Especially enjoy Yankee candles, but definitely not this one!!!

I TOOK THE PICTURE OFF!

I hope the Xanga police don't bust me for this one, because I just think it's hilarious.

I am relatively hopeful and excited about my thryoid condition!  A huge change from the way I felt this morning.  I turned over child rearing duties to Sam this evening and spent the entire evening reading a book I picked up at the health food store.  It is loaded with information that I was looking for.  I also found a website where I can purchase the natural dessicated thryoid hormone, and it's very affordable.  Hypothyroidism is really a very common ailment.  When I went to see a specialist, he was a little too quick (for my likeing) to want to jump the gun and start talking about surgery to remove my thyroid.  From what I've read, that is unwarranted in most cases.  We've already ruled out cancer.  Why get in a hurry to want to start dissecting and removing organs?  I wish I wouldn't have let the doctors persuade me so quickly to have my gall bladder removed when I had gall stones.  Although at the time, when I was in severe pain and was in the emergency room for the second time, anything sounded better than what I was experiencing.  I suppose one advantage to age is more of an ability to find things out for myself and not just believe something because someone says it's so.  That goes for Doctors, lawyers and Ministers!

Well, I spent the better part of my morning at the Health Food Store researching natural treatment for goiter and hypothyroidism.  I bought a  book and several vitamin/herb combinations.  I am going to measure my neck and keep a record of what I'm taking and periodically do measurements to see if it is shrinking.  I first noticed that I had a goiter during my first pregnancy 10 years ago.  It got a little bigger during my last pregnancy 2 years ago.  I have had numerous blood tests done and all come back normal.  I even had a biopsy done to rule out cancer.  I am really not sure what is causing my goiter.  I switched insurance this year and now I am uneligible PERMANENTLY under my new policy for treament of my thryoid in any way, shape or form.  It is very depressing and the whole insurance fiasco that I've had to deal with the last few months is another story that makes me want to scream and cry all at the same time, so I won't even go there today.  So in the mean time, I am going to do lots, and lots of research and hope that I can induce some changes with out the help of modern medicine.

Today is Mother's Day Out, my favorite day of the week!  It's the day that I get to do all the things that are difficult or impossible to do with a toddler.  Today it was hours at the Health food store and dropping off bills.  Next week it will be the dentist or more accurately, the dental hygenist for a cleaning.

Here's the picture of Samuel that I tried to post the other day and couldn't.  This is at the Blue and Gold Banquet.

Happy President's Day!  WHATEVER!  It's just another day for the Post Office to take a vacation!  I am always the dope that never remembers it's a holiday and still puts her mail out.  Oh well.

I am taking Samuel and a cousin to see Kanagroo Jack this afternoon.  It's amazing how fast he can clean his room when he has incentive!

We had Samuel's Blue and Gold Banquet Saturday night.  He received his badge and achievments and has officially moved up to a second year Webelos.  This is the last level in Cub Scouting.  Next year he will move up to Boy Scouts.  Here's a picture from the banquet.....Well it wouldn't upload for some reason.  I'll try to post it later.

Well, I have decided that I am going to close out my Lilsassygirl account here in a couple of weeks when my premium expires.  I have another Xanga account that I might upgrade to Premium or I may just create a new one altogether.  I think it's just time for something new.  I have different reasons for wanting to write on Xanga than I did when I first joined and I think a fresh start would be the best thing to do.  I'll miss Lilsassygirl.  But I am excited about starting over.  Until then, I will continue to write here.
