It's been so long since I've updated! I haven't been totally MIA from the xanga world though; been reading all your updates!!

1) CANCUN BABY!!! Well, I just got back from CANCUN!!! Went with some of the most awesomest and coolest gals and had a BA-LAST!!! It was timely and so nice to get away and not think about any responsibilities or technology!! Here are some pics!!

2) ART AND MUSIC!! Imagine….it's Friday….been a long week…..high stress….driving up to the Getty museum….parking in the VIP lot…..walking out to the outdoor patio that overlooks the city…hearing the soothing sounds of house music thumping….sun setting….sipping wine…walking in and out of the galleries….and to top it all off….enjoying the moment with friends….

We didn't have to imagine!!! I highly recommend ya'll check it out!!!

"Fridays off the 405 @ the Getty"

Everyone getting ready for a nite of relaxation and fun!!

Striking a pose...

Look at that breathtaking view!!! The scenery behind the view is nice too :)

What is fun without a picture with the abstract sun....

Some of the party peeps.....

Sundown.....The DJ was spinning all throughout....the DJ was a girl too! Nice!

Getting cultured in the galleries....

SteveB with the ladies...I'm SO hooking him up posting this pic....heheheh

***********************************************************************
then on Saturday..... 'MOCA after dark'…..love these museum venues!! …got to see a favorite DJ of mine spin!!! Steve Aoki!! taking a pic with him was the highlight of the nite!!! :)

Was SO excited to see our friend Grace visiting from the NYC!!! Love these girls!!!

Steve Aoki!! We were all so bummed after he finished DJing!!

3) I'M ON CRACK….beach volleyball crack, that is…..been playing every weekend and can't get enough!! Although it's HARD!!! I can hardly jump out of the sand! Played with a dude who's trying to get back onto the AVP circuit; he says the second you start getting frustrated and your body somewhat weak and sore from playing, that is when you start building those beach vb muscles and finally find your sand legs....frustrated, check...sore, check....ok yoda, i don't see or feel no sand legs yet...

4) BURNT TOAST!!!  - I feel like a burnt piece of toast….with all this fun in the sun, you might not recognize me when you see me....if i get any darker, might mistake me for someone else.....heheh :)

This is me.....a baby eagle....the technical name: an Eaglet…(PRONOUNCED like piglet, NOT appearing like a piglet, GOT IT?? :) )

Did you know that….

Full grown, a female eagle’s wingspan can reach about SEVEN FEET long
With broader wings, eagles are able to fly directly and quickly to their prey….
Full grown, eagles have the most keen eyesight there is allowing them to spot prey from very long distances…

I know it's confusing, people......you wonder: how is this meesh?? her 'wings' and 'legs' are for seriously super long....

but stay with me....there’s a method to this madness…

Thought to spice things up a bit, I'd humor you and liken myself to an animal to encapsulate my thoughts and situation and all things that make up Meesh these days......

It’s been a month and so much has happened…

An eventful month it’s been…cruisin & smooth sailing but also some bumps in the road of life too...thank goodness i had mi familia, mi amigos and amigas to help me through.....you know who you are!  Bear hugs for all of you! OoO (<----for you, sheen :) )

So the most recent development is that I've decided to put off the going-back-to-school thing….actually, the school decided for me :).....but please don't cry for me, Argentina......there is still a direction, perhaps even more so now than ever....

while still very disappointing, to be honest, I also breathed a small sigh of relief when I receive that awful letter ...(via EMAIL btw...geez louisiana!…so impersonal….at least have your dean sign the dang letter and pay me the honor of some real pen ink!)

All jokes aside, I wasn’t fully sold on this endeavor just a few months ago all the way up to D-day…..so a sigh of relief was perhaps in order…

It’s bittersweet….I cried, but I smiled too …cause I know that while rejection is never fun, being in the place where you are destined to be and doing what you are destined and wired to do is much FUNNER….

So no hard feelings, UCLA….We still coo.

So here’s where I feel like an eaglet and not an eagle….

I know I am not ‘full grown’ yet because I know while I might have the potential to soar, I am still figuring out in what direction to soar…my wings are still growing and developing….I know I’m still growing because I don’t have that keen eyesight yet as I’m still formulating that vision of what the next step might be, and of course, once I DO figure out what that is…..i’m gonna make a bee-line for whatever that is…..MY PREY…My precious :)

But for now, I ain’t all growed up yet…and that’s OK…..cause I know I’ll be soaring soon!!! My Pops says so…and I can’t wait…

FULL GROWN....beauteeful, huh? :)

btw, did you know that….

Full grown, and eaglet’s beak will grow to be the size of it’s head, but we won’t go there….:)

Thanks EVERYONE for all your support and encouragement!

yup, I have never been to a big concert before….unbelievable and surprising, but maybe not so much considering a couple things about me before i took more of an interest in music:

 1)       I didn't and still don't buy CDs and don't really download music all that much.

2)      I always referred to songs that I liked as 'that song' or I'd just belt it out for peeps to guess for themselves.....but still, don't ever ask me to name that song or artist....

3)       For the longest time, I couldn't understand all those people sleeping on the street to have first dibs on tickets or paying an arm and leg for nosebleed seats; I might as well be at home listening to the darn CD….but wait, I don't buy CDs….go figure….

Relatively recently, I became more interested in music, learning about artists and their songs and have come to actually memorize some lyrics here and there and have really grown to appreciate and admire their talent….Keane, Lauryn Hill, Badu, Mayer, Gwen, Norah, and more….

After checking out some smaller venues with smaller artists, I realized, hey, this IS cool! I really want to see some of the big dogs in concert! U2! JT!!.....bring it on!

Well, my time had come….it was the most opportune time and chance for me to see my FIRST big concert ever……J to the Legend! My friend mentioned his coming to town….$60 seats, available last minute, at the Bren Events Center, which is one of the smaller venues….And opening for him: CORINNE BAILEY RAE! LOVE HER!

 I had a BA-LAST!

Highlights:

1)       Going to the concert with some of my favoritest people in the whole world.

2)       Being so close to JL! I mean, we couldn't see the beads of sweat, but the view we had were grrrrreat!

3)       Talking smack with Sheen as we watched a girl in the audience on stage dancing like a llama with JL in her easter skirt (as reeks called it)….we coulda totally rocked JL's world if we were up there……shoooot....hehehehe

4)       Moving up about 30 rows after intermission so that we could stand and dance and have a better view of the most delicious piece of cuteness that is JL…..

5)       Sheen screaming mid concert: "JOHN! YOU ARE A LEGEND!!!!"

6)       JL and Corinne's duet of the old school tune "where is the love"…..amazing…

7)       JL's Badunkadunk :) …heheh….did I say that out loud?

8)   Just groovin, dancin to the music....hangin with chill, good peeps....

It was so enjoyable….but I'm SO pooped today!

And I think I'm getting sick…and losing my voice from screaming…..the consequences of having fun....:)

Sing it, brutha!

Love this pic....white shirt.....black pants.....simple....sexy....oh yeah....:)

The beautiful and wonderful Mr and Mrs Douk....

Some of da gals...

In front of the stage...oh no, sones wasn't drinking at all....heheheh :)

Hamaliciousness......we was so excited to be there!

Nacho with Nachos....:) and sones with a churro...

da gang..

CORINNE! Her voice was beeeeeauuuutiful!

THis is why i lost my voice.....was doing this the entire nite.....

Corinne had such great stage presence....she was groovin and chillin and looked so comfortable...made us want to do the same...

You snap that beautiful head of yours back, JL!!

What a nite!

Memories/Ma girl's bday partay

I think it's a really fascinating phenomenon that different sights, smells, and sounds can take you directly to a specific moment in time or a period in time in your life.....some fond and some not so fond memories...the details  of which can be incredibly clear......even more profound is that in some cases, you literally relive, in the present, the emotions that whatever taste/sight/smell evoked in the past.......

took me a long time, but i can say now that i am glad that i am a compilation of all these memories....even the not so fond ones.....:)

since xanga seems to be all about lists and playing 'tag', i've come up with my own list and again, i'm tagging you all...:)....' the top however many sights/smells/sounds that take you back'.....

* dried pork and porridge- the taste and smell remind me of my grandma; my bro and i would go over to her house all the time and i remember eating dried pork and porridge until it was coming out of my ears....i wasn't complaining cause it was yummy....till this day, i remember my grandma when i eat it..and till this day, it's tastes so good!.....

*super mario brothers- the famous theme music reminds me of that little window of time after school and before dinner when my bro and i would plop ourselves in front of our tube and plug in those grey nintendo controllers with red buttons......we'd step through the front door and make a bee line to the TV and nintendo set.... no stopping us...

*the price is right - can't believe the show is still on!....the theme music, bob barker's voice, and even the sound of that monster of a wheel clicking while it spun....those sounds still remind me of mornings at my grandma's and the comfort of grandma and grandpa's apartment.....

*KOST-ing- when i was a little girl, i was really afraid of sleeping alone in my room....was afraid of the dark too...so in the middle of the night, i'd often walk over to my parents room and ask 'mom, dad, can i sleep in your bed??'.....i remember the walk from my room to theirs seemed so endless and frightening....sometimes, i'd run as fast as my lil legs could take me....:)...anyhow, i'd wake up in the morning and the first thing i'd hear would be that voice singing: 'KOST....one o' three point five....love songs on.....the kost....' i remember i slept in my parents bed so much and listened to kost so much, that i was memorizing the lyrics to some of those old school songs....

*cookie crunch- the absolute worst cereal for a kid to eat these days....unless you want them jumping off the walls....:)... i remember thinking...'wow! these mini chcolate chip cookies are great! and i feel so energized after i eat them!'.....NOW i know that the energy spike was simply the mounds of sugar pumping through and crowding out the blood in my little veins....

*mattress- we had this thin maroon mattress with a psychedelic pattern on it; i think we still have it or maybe we gave it away; but i remember seeing it recently and it immediately took me back to all those times we lugged it with us on our family camping vacations. we'd sleep on it in the tent or the big van we owned back then....those days were so fun....traveling with family and cousins.....

*the gymnasium- a more recent memory....the smell of a gym, even the flourescent lighting in a gym reminds me of so much....that musty smell or the smell of the wood floors reminds me of my volleyball days, both high school and college....practicing in the early morning or late at nite or before a game....also, walking into the gym when no one else was there, but seeing all the bleachers and net and equipment set up....it was the greatest rush ever.....the bouncing of volleyballs on the gym floor gets me excited too....

it's therapeutic to reminisce sometimes.........
