Another Essay College Essay on the crisis of Health Care A Problem Solution Essay
Amajor domestic problem confronting the United States is access tohealth care. Many hard working citizens in this country cannot affordhealth care, and their number is growing. Most people agree that peoplein first world countries should have access to health care, and thatcurrent trend should be addressed and reversed. There is plenty ofdisagreement on how to approach this problem. There are a numberof causes for the current healthcare crisis. First of all, many peoplecannot afford health care coverage. Traditionally, this has been thepoor and the unemployed, but increasingly it is also the middle class. The price of health care insurance has been steadily increasing.Lawsuits against hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and others in themedical profession have caused costs to increase. Also, new andexpensive procedures have been developed to better treat medicalproblems add to those costs. Second, many people have been losing theirinsurance because their employers no longer pay for coverage-eitherbecause they cannot afford to themselves, or in an effort to cutcompany costs. A third major problem is issue of the maintaining ofMedicare and Social Security. Finally, there is also a need for moreworkers in the medical profession, and the need for more young peopleto pursue a career in medicine. There a number of approaches tothis problem. I don’t believe any of them, alone, will be able to fixthe problem, but a balance of them may address it in a satisfactorymanner. First, we can try to carefully limit lawsuits against themedical industry. Government should try to ensure that frivolouslawsuits are thrown out, and damages awarded are reasonable. While themedical profession should be held accountable for mistakes, we need tomake sure that the lawsuits do not damage the industry, forcing medicalprofessionals to pay larger premiums for lawsuit insurance resulting inmore expensive medical costs. Next, we can try to set up anational health care system. It should be targeted primarily on thepoor, the young, and those on Medicare and others who cannot affordhealth care currently. This would, hopefully, allow everyone access toa health care system. However, we must recognize the economic realitythat this system cannot deliver everything, and we must strive to makeit viable and sustainable by trying to reduce its costs. One way to dothis, I think, is to determine a certain level of acceptable care, andinstead of trying to cover everything, it should concentrate on thatlevel of care. It might also mean that more expressive edge proceduresare replaced by less expensive, but acceptable, procedures. It may alsomean fewer choices in selecting doctors. An emphasis should be onpreventative care, which tends to be more affordable. By doing this, wewill not be able to guarantee that everyone gets perfect health care, but they will get some level of health care that they otherwise wouldnot have. It also keeps costs lower, helping to make the system moresustainable. Finally, the introduction of a national health care systemmay introduce more competition into the health care market. I lived forseveral years in Canada, which has a national health care, and noticedthat this program was working well. Another thing we can do is to allowpoorer people to import cheaper drugs from Canada. And perhaps we canuse new technology to make some procedures cheaper. In the past yearthere was a flu shortage and the government did not agree to takesupplies of flu vaccine from Canada, because it claimed that theseshots did not have the same quality as American Flu shots. People whocould afford going to Canada to get these shots went. However, peoplein need were not able to afford getting to Canada to get those shots. The government made a mistake by not permitting this medication to theStates, because there were not enough flu shots to cover the childrenand seniors who needed the shot the most, and the death toll was high. Athird thing we can do is to make private health care more affordable.Government can give tax breaks to employees who provide health carebenefits to their employees. We can also have health care providesoffer more options in coverage-allowing individuals to get coveragethat are targeted to meet their needs or the amount they can afford, rather than a more expensive over comprehensive plan. Finally, the government should encourage students to pursue a medical career bygiving them incentives such as scholarships or loans to pay for school. Those loans might come with the opportunity to get those loans paid offif they work in hospitals and clinics in poorer neighborhoods for a fewyears, thus helping to make sure that more qualified doctors areavailable in those areas. I believe that every citizen shouldhave access to health care. The government should look at the healthcare systems and provisions in place both in other countries and withinthe States to see which systems can provide an adequate level of carewhile also being affordable, and importing medications when it isneeded, while promoting the local pharmaceutical companies. Inaddition, encouraging a new generation of people to become doctorswould help greatly to resolve this issue.

| She's Just a Natural WhoreShe's Just a Natural Whore [Behavioral Portrait of Others Exercise] She wears her slits too high, as she walks on by. She lets the boys know that's she's just too easy. She's just a natural Whore She one time did it, in the library, on top of the books, and I swear I didn't believe her, I was naive then Till one day I saw her with her guy. she's so disrespectful to the books! A place where I once wanted to study but instead I know now that I am afraid of touching the books. But Still, She's just a natural Whore She talks about sex, so freely. She always gets the guys, it must be that flashy smile she has, or the revealing clothes she wears, or that whore-like makeup she has on. She's just a natural Whore She walks too confidently, really she's like another Barbie Doll, But she has some brains in her head, she's mean and vindictive and can get her revenge, she puts on her smile in order for to get her way, And yet all the teachers somehow give her A's. Maybe she's way too easy, And does the teachers as well. I am not sure why, I am not sure how, she gets the grades or does the teachers as well, But all I know is- -She's just a natural Whore.

| A Girl in the Tower/The Last Shard of Sanity/Stage Fright/Courage A Girl in the Tower Let me tell a story, to all the girls out there, listen up! There once was a young fair maiden locked in a tower, in a far away land. She learned that a prince would rescue her, however, as the years passed by, she lost her faith, now, the girl in the tower, believed that needed no prince to save her, but someone to just catch her, when she falls...
The Last Shard of Sanity She would run up the stairs, in order to get home, she's on a quest to sit & cry, to cry, in order, to hold onto her sanity. A phone rings she stops her crying, and with the last moment of her strength she picks up the phone & says "hello"
Stage Fright Applause, clap, how would they react? would they clap for me? shout at me? or even threaten me? How would they react to my poem? be confused, teased my poem, hiss at me, jeer at me, boo at me, or would they love it? How would they react to my poem? Remove all doubt, cling onto hope, and feel ok, to be able to stand and stare at millions of people, to see them react to my poem. How would they react to my poem? I shall remove my fear of stage fright, and just let it be. Note: I wrote this before I read my poem "Death to my Lover" in front of the whole school. And apparently, I read the poem beautifully, although some people in high school were mocking, gan (gardern in hebrew), ahava (love in hebrew) and other words that apprently were foreign to some people.... Although I love how this poem started. They in the poem equates to the audience.... ©lilyqueen777 Please comment! =]
Courage I was once told I couldn't write, and then one day I just picked up a pen, & had the courage to write, so that my voice can be heard...
