Hello, my long-lost Xanga fiends-er, friends!
So I'm aware it was waaaaaay overdue for a Xanga-page re-do.
I liketh this one.

Brief update, if anyone's interested:
I am now a college grad. That sounds old. And I'm now 22. That's really old. I'm teaching one 10-year-old at a studio in Mesa; hoping to get more students in the fall, but so far I'm just really enjoying teaching. I was scared to start, but I love it now. I'm also looking for a job;  I'm feeling it's time to move on from Rubio's (and preferrably food service as well)... and I need to start paying bills. I'm looking at a couple of possibilities; one involves teaching at a school, and one involves (of all things!) window washing. Yes, I know. Odd. But it sounds like fun, and the hours/pay is great. Both options would allow me to continue to teach more students at the studio...we'll see.
And for the record, this is the longest period of time in 4 years that my room has been consistently clean. No, my room was not continually messy during college...it just never seemed to *stay* clean.
I do not practice 4 hours a day...I'm working on just practicing every day, which is sad...makes me feel like a has-been, especially when I sound gross/rusty. Blech. I'm working on learning a fiddle tune set by ear (from a CD, no music), another thing I hadn't had time to seriously work on the last 4 years.
Oh, and I'm now on Facebook. Yes, there's a good reason. No, I'm not going into it right now.
Anything else you want to know, send me an email.

I practiced.
I was happy to practice!-even opening the case last night made me happy!
and I played fiddle tunes today.

and it feels....*strange*, physically, to be playing again.

But I did it. I'm a far cry from where I was at my recital, but I am practicing!
And happy to be doing so.
I love violin.

I'm happy.

and...
I
need
to
practice.
that's the long and the short of it.
not at this exact moment, however.

reading list update

o yes! remember this?
I'm currently working on "Confessions", "Pride and Prejudice", and "Orthodoxy", by G. K. Chesterton...a graduation gift from Luz. O yes, and I am still meaning to continue reading "That Hideous Strength"....that just hasn't made it's way into actuality yet.

Chesterton is...brilliant. He's stretching my brain.
Augustine is....good. Yes. And also thinks more deeply than I do. Excellent.
And P&P is...wonderful. Austen does such a good job of making Lizzy a real person-I can relate to her! despite the obvious time difference.
My apologies for not being more descriptive about the books. I cannot think of anything better to say at the moment. But yes, the summer reading list quest marches on, and again, I am open to discussing any of the above books with interested parties!
