(Matthew 14:25-31) 25) During the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26) When the disciples saw Him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost" they said and cried out in fear. 27) But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." 28) "Lord if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." 29) "Come", He said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30) But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord save me!" 31) Immediately, Jesus reached out His hand and caught him. "You of little faith," He said, "why did you doubt?

Webster's difinition of doubt:
To waiver in opinion. Someone who is not consistent. Unsettled in opinion or belief. Inclined to disbelieve. Fearful, apprehensive, or suspicious of.

All Christians have doubt from time to time. It is the strongest weapon of the Devil. With doubt, he can cripple you. With doubt comes fear. When fear enters, faith leaves. When faith leaves, Jesus can no longer help you.

We need to keep our eyes on Jesus. As a creature of this world, before we became Christian's, all we have ever experienced was the world around us. The Bible says that the world belongs to the Devil and he is constantly trying to keep us away from the Lord. But with Jesus you are stronger than the world.

Even when our faith is weak, Jesus will save us, as long as we call out to Him. We must keep our eyes on God's unchanging word, no matter what the circumstances are. God, through Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit, is greater than the circumstances. But, if you allow the circumstances to control you, you are going to sink.

Jesus said, "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. " (John 16:33)

"Love anything and your heart will be wrung andpossibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you mustgive it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round withhobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safein the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; itwill become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable."

- C.S. Lewis
