"Why Does the Moon Turn Orange Sometimes When it Rises?"

Have you ever wondered why the moon is more orange or yellow in color when it first rises at night? This effect is caused by the atmosphere of the earth. The reason for the orange color is due to the scattering of light by the atmosphere. When the moon is near the horizon, the moonlight must pass through much more atmosphere than when the moon is directly overhead. By the time the moonlight reaches your eyes, the blue, green, and purple pieces of visible light have been scattered away by air molecules. That's why you only see yellow, orange, or red.
The moon can have an orange color at any time of the year. Sometimes the moon appears orange even when it's directly overhead. This occurs when there's a lot of dust, smoke, or pollution in the atmosphere. The size of those particles will determine the type of color you will see.


Look first at the white moon directly overhead. See the red part of the arrow pointing to the white moon? This red part of the arrow shows the part of the atmosphere we are looking through to see the moon. Now look at the orange moon just rising in the east. Look at the blue portion of the arrow pointing to the orange moon. See how much longer the blue line is than the red line. This shows that we are looking through about three times as much atmosphere at a rising or setting moon.

I was watching a movie recently and something really leaped out at me.

It said something along the lines of "If you pray to God for more patience, what does He do? Allows situations that try your patience in order to improve it. If you ask for courage, God sends situations in which you need to be courageous... it allows room for growth."

I thought that was an extremely neat way of looking at it. I don't know about you (and you very well may have already known this or figured it out), but I never thought about it in that way. It makes sense, really. God doesn't want to make spoiled brats out of us. He wants to make us grow and strengthen us! If He were to answer our every beck and call or bestow upon us the things we ask for IMMEDIATELY where would we be? We'd have an extremely tainted perspective of life...

That hit me hard the other night during that movie and I'm not sure how much I really payed attention to the rest of it due to my thoughts on this subject! Just thought I would share this and maybe it would prick someone else's spirit.

Lakeland Florida Revival

Of course when ever you see one of these occurrences, people become skeptical and wonder if it's for real. That, reader, is for you to decern. No one can be talked into believing anything, they have to figure it out  or decide for themselves.... or of course, the Lord touches their heart.

This Revival is being watched by MILLIONS of viewers around the GLOBE. It has been reported that it's reaching over 214 nations. The Arab nations have requested it to air on their local television! For people here in the U.S. (maybe other places too, I'm not sure) you can find it on Direct TV if you have that. The channel is called God TV.

Now, for you skeptics out there, Todd Bentley may appear a bit radical... but if you think about it, wasn't Christ  radical in His own way? Christ did not have tattoos from his neck down His arms, but He asked us to change how we live (all the things we were doing, how we spoke, how we lived, how we treated people---) and follow Him... to make HIM the focus for our life... no longer us being the focus. THAT is a bit radical for the normal person. For us who worship the Creator, it's the least we can do.

This video was shown to me thru a friend and I just stood there absolutely captivated. This man was given a time limit on his life. What would you do if you were faced with such a situation? What if you were given 6 months, 2 months or even 2 weeks to live? How would you live it?

As I saw this Professor give his last lecture, and I was completely floored. I was hit with the fact that I am no different than him. I started somberly listing in my mind things that I would do if I knew when I was to die. Then I thought about it in a totally different way, why does that make a difference? Because I dont know the exact day of my passing, that makes it even more urgent that I DO live out everything possible! NOW. Embrace every opportunity that the Lord puts in my path... whether difficult, sweet, or seemingly impossible.

He gave his last lecture on the Oprah show to help us put time into perspective.... it eventually runs out!

Don't just exsist! Start living NOW.
