| So...I have ridden a motorcycle......and it was flippin amazing!! I have decided that this is going to be the summer of doing things that I have never before done. I have already accomplished a few things... 1) Melting in a sauna 2) Riding a motorcycle!! Yes, I have ridden a motorcycle!! Michael had owed me a ride from forever ago, and I finally got it!!! Michael had been waiting to get the other motorcycle helmet to give me a ride, and he finally got it last week. He said that he would come find me during our lunch break and give me a ride. Amanda and John came out, too, since Amanda also wanted a ride. We hopped on his bike, and I said, "where are we going?" "He said, I don't know, guess we'll find out." And he took off to the main road. We were flying down the road, when he kept reaching down by my left leg. I thought maybe my ripped up jeans had gotten caught in something. The motorcycle was kind of chugging. Finally, after we had ridden around for about five minutes, Michael stopped by the side of the road and said "Thank you for riding Michael's motorcycle" in typical Michael fashion. He had been trying to flip the switch for the reserve tank, but apparently the reserve tank was empty as well--go figure!! I got off the bike as he tried to restart it, but it didn't work, and he was afraid that he was going to kill the battery. The starter was fine, but there was not enough gas to get it running again. I suggested that we get off the main road, and cross and sit in someone's driveway, so we did so. He happened to bring his cell phone (I didn't...I was afraid sitting on it would crush it) and he called John. Immediately John said "Did you run out of gas?" Michael: "Now why would you say that?" We then waited for Amanda to go get her mom's car from one end of campus, and have them get some gas for us and come and meet us on the main road. Michael and I sat there for 15 minutes, just talking. We could still see campus, so we weren't far off, but walking it back would've taken forever, and we only had 2 minutes left until break was over and we needed to get back to work. Apparently I was the first ride that Michael had given to anyone outside of his family--and he had run out of gas. He was so embarrassed! After Amanda and John showed up, we put 2 gallons in the tank and took off to get back to campus. We were only 9 minutes late. The next time I saw Michael he put his hard hat over his face so that I couldn't see him, he was so embarrassed about the whole ordeal. It was great. He gave me a ride home from work today, even though he didn't have another helmet, he just let me use his for the five minute trip. I officially love riding on motorcyles! Well, time to do something constructive, like read for my class. I'm out! | | |
| So...life's been interesting. Can't really complain, work is good, though I'm in the midst of working a 13 hour day. Overtime will be good. What fun!!
Tim and I aren't together anymore, which was for the better. We just weren't going to work out. Hard to break off, but the right thing to do for both of us and I have a lot of peace about it.
It's hot!! OH is hot!!
I'm excited about college group tonight and seeing my newfound friends--one from Israel!
I'm out.

| MI was amazing!!So...back from an amazing break in MI.
I went home with my boyfriend and got to hang out with his family for the weekend. It was sooo much fun that when Tim's roommate John asked him when we were coming back I said "Never". "Wow," John replied, "she must be having a good time." haha, I was--even if I did have to play paper dolls with his six year old sister (can I just say I suck at that???) But it was an awesome weekend to be able to just relax and spend time with his family and be able to sit down and just talk, pray, and have family devotions with them and get to know them better. I'll admit, I have never been one of those people who did the whole group/family devotions or Bible study thing--but theirs was good. Tim played his guitar and led the songs--it was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed seeing him at home, with his family, watching him interact with them--especially his sister (he's so good with her and with kids in general). I got to see him where he was most comfortable and see how he was with his family. It was good.
The seven inches of snow that we got the first day that we were there was fun, too. I'm glad we didn't end up driving back in it when we came up the night before.
Oh, did I mention that they got a chocolate lab puppy named Phoebe??? Yeah, they got her the second night we were there--she was so cute!! I think my allergies have survived. :)
I guess I could just sum it up by saying that it was great to just be able to spend time with Tim. We don't get to see much of each other when we're at school, what with my three jobs and his engineering courses--so it was wonderful. I thank God for Tim, he is such a blessing. We figured out we're a pretty good team, too. We can clean the kitchen
pretty fast (usually faster if he washes, though, and if I dry, than if
I'm washing the dishes...I should work on that). But in general, I think we balance each other out fairly well. We'll bring out the best in one another. Forgive me if I sound like one of those girls who does nothing but talk about her boyfriend and everything great that is going on in her life because of him. (Not that that isn't the case, mind you.) I'm just saying that I don't want to be one of those annoying people who steps into dream land and loses touch with reality. I think I'm too practical for that anyway.
On that note, I think I'll go do something productive, like homework--even though I'm sitting here at work and it's much more temping to watch another episode of OTH...
I'm out!

| Wow......hadn't updated this in forever, so I thought I'd put up a quick post.
It's Valentine's Day. I managed to wear black and green (Peter forbade me wearing black considering I can't technically consider myself single anymore, so therefore wearing black for Singles Awareness Day would be inappropriate). But I managed to get some in there anyway (besides, I wear it all the time...why does it matter?)
Anyway...so today, a certain someone IMed me, and wanted to know if I was in my dorm room. He said that he had something for me and that he wanted to bring it over. He called when he got to my dorm, and I went out to meet him. He had gotten me a single, red carnation, since he knew carnations were my favorite!! It was gorgeous. I was thrilled!! And then he said, "I have something else for you". He pulled out a cd-shaped gift wrapped in black and red tissue paper (of course he remembered my favorite colors haha). It was the RED cd that I've been dying to get--but not just a CD, it was the DVD mix, too!! (If you're wondering what that is, it's what I'm listening to currently haha) Holy crap, I was ecstatic when I found out.
He is awesome. Can I just say that? OK, I did haha.
I just felt compelled to write that. Now I must go back to studying (ahem, I mean working...there's just not much to do with the computers right now hehe)
I'm out!
The CD and the Carnation. My brother surprised me at work with a yellow rose, as well!

| Amazing...What an amazing weekend I had... Actually, it was mostly Sunday night. I had a lot of studying that I needed to do, so I was in the SSC studying with my friends Sarah, Chris, Becky, and Tim. We had a blast listening to Stellar Kart and Skillet and singing along, ignoring the people who were walking around us. We started talking about God, and I said "Guys, why can't we just talk about God instead of doing homework?" And then I suggested that we sing sometime together--and that sometime ended up being right then. Tim and Chris ran to Tim's car to get his guitar, and we sat outside the HIVE and sang praise songs to Jesus. It was amazing! I loved singing and harmonizing with my friends. It just gives me goosebumps to think about singing those songs to God. And then Chris sang us a song, and while he did, us girls laid down on the grassy bank and stared up at the clear, starry night sky. It was amazing to listen to a song talking about God's goodness and mercy and power and stare at part of His magnificent creation--the stars! Chris mentioned that he knows each of them by name--wow! Then we listened to about a five minute long devotional with a song on Chris' laptop and he and Tim joined us girls in staring at the night sky. At 10:30 we decided that we needed to actually focus and study, but we wanted to pray together first. So we stood in a circle on the bank, our arms around eachother in the presence of God and "popcorn" prayed, uplifting one antoher, our fellow student body, and just praising God. It was so powerful, I cried. Needless to say, it was not a short prayer time. We ended up praying there for about 20-30 minutes. After dropping Tim off at the Hill and visiting with our guy friends there, we walked back to our dorms, intent on studying. I felt bad for taking so much time out of my study time...but I think it was really good to be able to relax from the stress that was weighing down on my shoulders. I'll post some of the pictures from when we were "studying". I just wish y'all could've seen the starry sky that night, and heard the praises being sent upward to God. Awesome! God is awesome!!!
Anyway, I'll upload some photos when xanga stops being retarded about the photoblog. I'm done trying.
Later!
There are definitely tables and benches available...and we're sprawled all over the floor.
 Sarah and me!
This is what happens when you give Chris a camera.
Becky, Sarah, and me--oh my gosh, I love these girls!!! | | |
