He asked on Saturday night.  I said yes.  I am so thankful.

P.S. All of that was correct.  This is not an April Fool's joke.  I repeat, NOT an April Fool's joke.

It's been a long time.  While I have not posted in a while , I've enjoyed reading all of yours.  Let's see, in the past 6 months, I started training for a half marathon, I quit training for a half marathon, I didn't run the half marathon, I registered for the capitol 10K, I decided not to run the capitol 10K....Is it me or is there a pattern here?  Also in the past few months, I've purchased a digital camera, hence the added photo effects.

Spring Break in Matamoros was great, and now I'm preparing for summer project in East Asia.  I love going to Asia, except for when I feel stupid that I don't speak the language.  Once I got lost there and started speaking Spanish.  Donde esta el otro MacDonald's?

And it's about time I posted about my main squeeze, Oliver.  He calls himself a six foot asian from Tennessee.  To that description I would add: he's actually six ONE, he currently lives in Boston, loves Jesus and people, and he is quite wonderful.  He loves sharing his math prowess as well as his life with high school kids in Waltham, Mass.  We've been dating for about 6 months now.  I am so thankful to know him.

I had a very humbling experience this morning.  I did something that in the past I never thought I'd do--and I've laughed at others that have had to do it....I let my car run out of gas.  Argh.

Usually I fill up way before the red light comes on.  A couple of times I have had to drive a few miles with it on, but the first station I see--I take care of it.  That's why I thought it'd be ok to go ahead and drive home last night at 11:30pm and just fill up in the morning, even though the red light was on.  Right?

Wrong.  I went out to start my car and...nothing.  My first reaction was to say out loud, "Youuuuuu're kiiiiidding."  Thankfully, my neighbor Oscar was outside and had one of those red plastic gasoline containers with the long neck for pouring.  I had to suck it up and walk to the gas station down the street.  I used my credit card to buy less than a gallon to get my car running again.

I'm so glad that this happened at home, though, not on the freeway or somewhere random like that--because I HAVE seen that before.  No more red lights for me....I'm filling up before that sucker has a chance...

Has this ever happened to you?  How close have you come to it happening to you?

20 FACTS:  Write down 20 random facts about yourself then tag the same amount of people as minutes it takes you to write the facts

1.  Although my mom's name is Juanita and she is fully Chinese, I never thought it was weird until middle school.

2.  I have two brothers--Brian and Brandon.  Brian is five years older, Brandon is five years younger.

3.  I got in a fist fight in 2nd grade with Andrea Johnson.  When I came home with a scratch on my face, I told my mom I fell while I was walking home from school.  I didn't tell her the truth until 7th grade.

4.  When I was in 3rd grade, I was asked by my teacher to take some paint back to another teacher.  On the way, I wondered what would happen if I squeezed the bottle really hard.  I found out...all over one of the cement columns in the hallway.

5.  I hated Chinese food when I was younger, but now it's one of my favorites.

6.  I quit Chinese school after a few years and now I really really regret it.

7.  I got lost in China and started speaking Spanish to my rickshaw driver.

8.  I really want a digital camera.  I'm sick of taking pictures of little kids and having them run up to me to see the picture.  I have to tell them, "Aw, sweetie, my camera doesn't do that."

9.  I really love to cook.

10. When I was in 3rd grade, I got out on the word "encouragement" in the spelling bee.  Ugh.

11.  I have one foot with an arch, and other is flat.  One from each parent, I guess.

12.  I'm terrible with directions.  Once my friend Annie took me to the middle of Foley's and made me find our way back to the mall area, and I couldn't do it.

13.  One of my favorite things is getting into my bed with newly washed sheets.  I get to do it tonight!  I'm so excited!

14.  I am a fajitas-snob.  Pappasito's all the way, baby.  I worked there in high school, and it's still my favorite.

15.  Gayle Clark, my discipler in college, is one of my heroes.

16.  I love to do hair and makeup for weddings, and one day I think I'd like to go to cosmetology school and do it for a living.

17.  Dena and I have been best friends since 6th grade.  We haven't lived in the same city since 1994.

18.  My childhood dentist used to nibble on my ear and I didn't know that was weird until I was older.  Sick out.

19.  Until a couple of years ago, I thought LOL stood for "lots of laughs."  Hey, it could.

20.  I think I remember a lot about my childhood.

I tag leslieguinn, trumanlo, bramei, rhespring04, fayapeng, and Liang Chen, even though she doesn't have a xanga yet.  It's time, Liangers!
