| I Hate VacationsI'm not really happy with myself for that sentiment, but it's the truth. My limited experience has been that they always end up being way more work than they're worth. I get secretly jealous when families I know go on cool-sounding trips, shirking the weekly grind and going someplace more exciting than midwest Ohio. The results always seem to be pictures of smiling faces and stories of the great times, not endless fights with kids trying to get them to eat, sleepless nights of vomiting, and trips to the emergency room (all 3 of which occurred on my family's last attempt to "get away" for a while). All that being said, like Arnold in T2, I feel like I need a vacation. But instead of taking my family and leaving the community for two weeks, I wish I could keep my family at home, and make "the community" go away for two weeks. No work. No church. No meetings. No cell phones or email. No trips to the grocery store or running errands. Just two blissful weeks of uninterrupted time at home. Honestly, I don't have nearly enough time right now to enjoy fully the things I've got in my house, so why should I spend money and take on the hassle of going away when weeks worth of entertainment and rest is waiting for free in my own home? I guess you would call something like this a sabbatical of sorts. Someday soon my family is going to take one. Someday. Just as soon as this "next big thing" is done . . . |

| Seriously Funny"How we treat the church reflects how we feel about God. And bad work is a bad way to treat a good God." If you have any shred of humor in your body you will find Stuff Christians Like pretty darn hilarious. And impressively convicting at the same time. Well played, Jon. Well played. EDIT: Link fixed. Sorry about that! |
