| Xanga, we flirted for two years. TWO YEARS EXACTLY ON THIS DAY, YOU BEGAN OWNING ME. Well this time, it's over!! for good!!!
You see, you weren't the first blog I ever had. First came my livejournal: http://djman.livejournal.com/ We had a falling out when I came to CBC. I was ready to explore other blogs.
Then on February 13, 2005, I met you. I became the Love Doctor. During my two year tenure, I did many operations and surgeries. I counseled the sick, lonely, happyless, and most importantly the LOVELESS. You pwned me. You were my daddy. You were my boo.
Yes, it's true. I was a modern day hitch. Okay that part is not true, but it is true that while I helped others out, I, myself, was seemingly hopeless. The irony. I mean it almost makes you want to burst out laughing how ironic this is. Okay it's ironic and paradoxical. Except it's sad. Okay it's ironic and paradoxical and sad. and much much more.
Xanga, we laughed, we cried, we danced, we put up mustache pictures that we shouldn't have, we were epropped and we epropped, but most importantly: we loved. (Check out the lyrics for Goodbye My Lover by James Blunt to truly see how I feel).
With all this sad, I will now inform you that there's a new blog in my life. You have held my words for too long! Tonight and for the rest of my life, I will be going home to a new blog. Blogger is its name. And I won't be goofy all time, you see, I'm going to be writing more in depth things there. Thought-provoking things there... that I will be stealing from geniuses like Rob Bell, Jesus Christ, and Jason Patterson. The new site is: http://adesperateman.blogspot.com/ I think the name speaks for itself.
Xanga, for the last time I will now write: The Love Doctor is NOT in... forever.

| 'Truthiness' Pronounced 2006 Word of the YearSPRINGFIELD, Mass. — After 12 months of naked
partisanship on Capitol Hill, on cable TV and in the blogosphere, the word of
the year for 2006 is ... "truthiness."
The word — if one can call it that — best summed up 2006, according to an
online survey by dictionary publisher Merriam-Webster.
"Truthiness" was credited to Comedy Central satirist Stephen Colbert, who
defined it as "truth that comes from the gut, not books."
"We're at a point where what constitutes truth is a question on a lot
of people's minds, and truth has become up for grabs," said
Merriam-Webster president John Morse. "`Truthiness' is a playful way for
us to think about a very important issue."
Other Top 10 finishers included "war," "insurgent,"
"sectarian" and "corruption." But "truthiness"
won 5-to-1, Morse said.
Colbert, who once derided the folks at Springfield-based Merriam-Webster as
the "word police" and a bunch of "wordinistas," was
pleased.
"Though I'm no fan of reference books and their fact-based agendas, I
am a fan of anyone who chooses to honor me," he said in an e-mail to The
Associated Press.
"And what an honor," he said. "Truthiness now joins
the lexicographical pantheon with words like `squash,' `merry,' `crumpet,'
`the,' `xylophone,' `circuitous,' `others' and others."
Colbert first uttered "truthiness" during an October 2005
broadcast of "The Colbert Report" his parody of combative, conservative talk shows.
| Born to Be Boring? There's a Place for You in CyberspaceReported by FoxNews.com on Sunday, November 12, 2006 Enjoy watching grass grow?
Dying to know more about the rotation of baggage carousels?
Harboring an insatiable desire to familiarize yourself with the origin of soap?
There's a place for you in cyberspace. It's called the Dull Men's Club.
Dullmen.com
may be the only place on the Web that strives to be boring. Boasting
"no violence or scary scenes," dullmen.com instead provides the kind of
material normally welcomed by those needing a nap, Reuters reports.
"Many
people — corporate executives and celebrities I've heard about — enjoy
doing the dull things," the site's author Lee Carlson told Reuters.
"It's an ordinary subject taken to extremes. Here's one: Take a bucket, fill it with water, put in some wood and watch it warp."
Just how boring is boring? November is fig month at dullmen.com. "Figs
are good for you. High fibre and high nutritional value ... fat-free,
sodium-free, cholesterol-free ... not to mention the great taste. And
they are portable," the site says.
If that doesn't get you going, you could always learn more about safety razors or the Jerusalem Tax Museum.
"One
of the museum's purposes was to be a place to learn about the routine
work of the tax department. Wow ... it doesn't get much better than
that," the site says.
But sorry, ladies — boring
babes aren't invited. Women are excluded from membership in the site's
host society, the National Council of Dull Men, Washington, D.C.
"Our
view is that women are not dull. Women are exciting. Moreover, we think
women would be offended if we said they were dull ... that it would be
politically incorrect to refer to women as being dull," the site says.
| Revealing JesusI'm reading a commentary on The Revelation of Jesus Christ. This book that once seemed so hard to understand is now starting to actually mean something to me. Here are 7 concepts that I have learned studying this great book: 1. This book can be understood. It's not the mysteries of Jesus Christ; it's the Revelation of Jesus Christ! 2. This book shows the power of Jesus in his fullness. Christ Jesus is referred to as the Lion and the Lamb. In the Gospels, we see Jesus as the suffering Lamb. In the book that reveals him more fully, we see him as the Lion that he also is. 3. The central theme of this book is that Jesus Christ, in his sovereign dominion and rule, will pour out his wrath against the nations of the earth for the wickedness they have done against him and against his people. He does this in his mercy, so that they may see their sin and return to him. This makes sense, because humans have a tendency to forget God when things are great, but when troubles come, God seems to find his way back into the picture. 4. The greatest witness of a believer is his blood. As followers of Christ, we should expect persecution following the example of our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ the Suffering Lamb. The blood of the saints is the greatest testimony there can ever be to the world of the love of our God. This book also shows us that those who have been martyred will be avenged by the One we have put our faith and trust in. 5. In the Gospels, Jesus Christ showed his dominion and rule by his restraint. How easy it would have been for him when the mockers told him that if he really was the Son of God to come down from the cross, but he didn't. He showed his power and restraint by not taking the easy way out, by not doing as they wished. He exercised his power by saying no even until death. Who won there? Jesus did by not submitting. 6. In the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, Jesus shows his dominion and rule by his power. He is an untamed lion that hears the cries of his people in the midst of their persecution. He will not let that go unpunished. 7. Those that remain faithful despite the temptations of the culture and the persecution wherever it may come from will find their reward in the real life--the one that is to come after this temporary one. This is the hope for all who put their trust in God.
May you use this quick synopsis of the book that is your revelation to bring those who once followed you back into right relationship with you. Come quickly Lord Jesus. Amen.
