This post is just going to have my all time favourite song
and the meaning to the song.
I think it's a poetic masterpiece Sing It Out

Hallelujah Song Meaning

It gives the song so much depth and meaning a broken desperate love song Hallelujah is the pronouncement of something perfect, beautiful and wonderful.
This can be religious, sexual, and I think Cohen is even drawing on an aesthetic perfection.
Cohen gives examples of biblical persons and how their Hallelujahs are broken.
The narrarator's Hallelujah is broken by a love that is no longer there,
and it all seems too familiar and sad to him. The first verse combines these two meanings, beginning with a biblical reference to David
being Gods favored man on earth, before a lyric with two meanings,
"it goes like this, the fourth the fifth// the minor fall and the major lift"
the first cleverly refers to the musical structure of the song,
but it also refers to the rollercoaster of love,
peaks of emotions from the best to the worst.
The doubt in religion is also proclaimed in "the baffled king composes hallelujah",
this refers to the Old Testament, in which David composes the book of Psalms,
turning to religion only because he has found imperfection in his own life
(Sleeping with Bathsheeba and ordering Uriah dead). The second verse is a reference to Sampson and Delilah as was previously stated,
although "you saw her bathing on the roof" is another reference to David and Bathsheeba.
It finished by telling how a failed relationship can break your life apart, (e.g. Sampson and Delilah),
and again another relationships to how people in for instance mid-life crises 'find God'.

marble arch is where speakers corner in London is.
That's where people go to argue for what they believe in. as far as the biblical references, the first verse referring to david is the reach for love.
the exultation in love and the praise of it -- the mounting emotion in attempting to uncover its mystery.
the second verse references both david and samson -- two men who surrendered to women and lost a part of themselves
through it (the throne is david, he didn't lose his kingdom, but he lost a closeness
that he once had with god, eventually having to climb to earn it back --
the cutting of the hair is samson: he succumbed to delilah's lusty temptation
and as a result lost his strengh to her betrayal) "Baby i've been here before/I've seen this room
and i've walked this floor," he's experienced pain from relationships before
and he recognizes this relationship as pain -- not the glorified end the woman is making it.
the love used to be alive and passionate, a relationship in which he surrendered himself to the woman,
but it has only grown cold and distant
the hallelujah is pain, it's emotion, it's heartache, it's a plea "Well there was a time when you let me know

represents something amazing that was once shared,
in this instance, sex, but it is over and it is only a memory that brings back
a plethora of painful emotions.
