June is Almost Over!

Today is Tuesday, June 20, 2006, and time sure flies when you are having fun and even when you're not. Jenna had a beautiful graduation service and we had a wonderful time with family and friends. Jenna then spent a few days with her grandparents. She is working and getting ready for college applications, etc. The twins went to camp. Unfortunately, it was not a good experience for Jacey. They both enjoyed making new friends and the preaching was wonderful but a counselor with too much authority and no sense decided she would make my daughter miserable for the week. Needless to say, last time going to that camp and Crown College is now out of the question for Jenna. Jenna and Jacey are both working two jobs and Jared is working too. I feel like a taxi service but we are making Jenna drive more so she can take her final test and relieve some of the stress.

Friday is our 22nd wedding anniversary. Scott and I have been married 22 years. Yikes that is a long time. The girls are going to a slumber party on Friday and Jared is going over to the Pastor's house so we may have the evening alone. The next day the twins are going to see "Cars" with Bro. Leon's youth group. At least that is the plan at this time.

We are making major cuts in our lifestyle at the moment. No more going out to eat, no more SAT TV, etc. At least for the rest of the summer, so we can catch up financially. I do not know if this is possible but we are at least making the attempt. We have still not recovered from Scott losing his job and we are making a lot less a month. Financial stress is unbelievable. God is in control and I know that He is and I know that He has plans for us but in the meantime, in the not knowing phase, it is driving me crazy.

I read in God's word today Psalm 3 and what a wonderful encouragement it was.

1. LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.
2. Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah
3. But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter of my head.
4. I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and He heard my out of His holy hill. Selah.
5. I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
6. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.
7. Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
8. Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.

Oh well, love to all,
Luci

Pierre sends his regards! He is stressed from keeping up with his job and with the dogs, Charlie, Beau, Jock, & Chachi. There is much work to be done.

JENNA'S GRADUATION

JENNA IS GRADUATING!

YOWSER!

In two days my oldest daughter will graduate from high school and it seems like just yesterday I was holding her in my arms scared to death that she would break. She has been a wonderful child to raise. It seems like sometimes she was the adult and I was the child. Straight "A's" in school, very principled. My husband and I have been so blessed. I love what she has become.

My Mom and Dad, my sister Bonnie, and Savannah, Ethan, and Tanner are all driving in today to attend the graduation. Scott's Mom and Dad are flying in around noon to attend. I have talked to many old friends in the last few weeks and what a blessing that has been. Tomorrow, Glenda, Brenda, and I will decorate the fellowship hall. Glenda and Brenda are two of my dearest friends. Many more have sent their best wishes.

Jenna has chosen Bro. Paul to preach her graduation. He has truly become her pastor. He is our Pastor and we are so thankful for him and his family. God has been so good to us in placing us in a church family that loves and cares for us. The last few years have been the most difficult but the most blessed as well.

Last Saturday, Leslie and Stephen were married. Scott had the privilege of performing the ceremony. It was beautiful and God blessed there as well. Two people who are truly in love and what a blessing that is in this day and age. It was a time of fellowship with old friends. I realize that our time at Calvary was not wasted.

Jared has become quite the man. He has grown a lot and matured. I am able to rely on him more to get things done around the house and he is assuming more responsibility. Jacey is my little worker. She does a job and does it right. She can be counted on to accomplish what she sets out to do and I am very pleased.

Have I told you how much God has blessed. We don't deserve any of it but He takes care of us. His promises are sure, His watchcare is diligent. We are secure in His love.

I will close this out, just a little update on the life of me. Oh, before I forget, I must thank God for Pierre, Beau, Charlie, Henry, Jockamo, & Chachi.

Bye!

Update!

can't believe I haven't written a post since March 1st. On March 23rd I drove down to see my Mom and celebrate her birthday. I also had to pick up Itty Bit. She had been visiting there for two weeks. Jen had bought a cat for my Mom for her birthday. His name is Jake and she was thrilled. Jen and I made a scrapbook for her also. That is the first time I have driven anywhere that far away with just my younguns.

I have been very discouraged lately. It always seems to be two steps forward three steps back. This is the way the Lord must want it. So I am back on the hamster wheel. I must accept it but while my head knows this my heart is refusing to cooperate. That is why God's Word says "The heart is deceitful above all things, who can know it?".

I did receive a blessing. Someone gave away their white miniature poodle and we got to keep him. We named him Beau and he is great. Housebroken already and he and Pierre have made friends and we are thrilled. I love dogs-can you tell? We have five of them, a German Doodle, a Pekepoo, a Yorkiepoo, a Miniature Poodle, and a Chihuahua. I am rather fond of poodles-obvious isn't it?

The twins turned fourteen on Monday. I can hardly believe how the time has flown. They can't wait to drive next year. It seems like yesterday I was toting them both around.

We are all going to Mexico on a missions trip. Someone was gracious enough to pay our way and we are so excited. This is my first time out of the country. I guess that is all the news for now. Leave me some comments.

Bye!

My Life

Well another birthday has come and gone.  It was a good one.  My boss gave me a party at work which was totally unexpected and my two men (husband and son) took me out to eat and then I had a chick night with my daughters, and friends, Karen, Laurel, and Brenda.  I also received a lot of birthday cards.

The twins gave me a betta and bowl to keep at my office.  His name is Fred.  Jenna gave me a care package with a lot of neat stuff in it.  My husband gave me a bracelet and my boss gave me a bonus.  I'd say it was a pretty neat birthday.

The Lord has been working in some pretty wonderful ways.  We are following His leadership and it is exciting.  Bro. Paul preached a message on God's glory Sunday and it was awesome.  In some ways, we really don't want to see God's glory because there can be pain that comes with it.  We humans certainly like things comfortable, or at least our flesh does.

Jacey sang "No other word for grace" Sunday morning and she did really well.  Jenna sang an old favorite, "If you want me to" Sunday night.  The girls have also started an ensemble and they are working on "Holy Ground".  They blend really well.

The choir is doing great.  We sang the "Solid Rock" and Brenda and I sang a duet on the third verse and Jenna, Jacey, & Laurel sang a trio for the second verse.

We heard from Bro. Bolduc on Monday as he was passing through.  It is always good to hear from him and hear what God is doing in Montreal.

That's most of the news,  Luci
