Well, that break was a bit more than the 2 weeks I planned!
We are all settled in Canada & our company started. Luckyhonu has been an excellent pilot project. We've got other projects coming into priority over Luckyhonu right now, but small tweaks & additions to the site will continue. I'll keep you posted.

Small Beginning, Successful Endings is the title of Tao Te Ching 64

From the "For Thought" comment about this chapter in the translation I'm reading:

"This chapter is an overview of modern management practice. The management cycle can be remembered with the acronym, PACE, which stands for plan-act-control-evaluate. Most people lay plans for projects and act. However, many people fail to control and evaluate their actions by making sure that they really are going according to plan. They become impatient and take shortcuts which lead them away from their goal instead of toward it."

Luckyhonu began as just a passing idea about making a tool folks could find useful. Now that I'm getting such great feedback, there are all kinds of improvements I want to add. This "Small Beginnings, Successful Endings" was a reminder that I shouldn't be leaping forward to the action part with out making the plan first. And I need to do this in all areas of my life right now.

Here's to MAKING THE PLAN! After I take a nap.

Since the I Ching Oracle Coin Caster has gone live, I've learned so much I could burst! A few examples

Having critics outside the development team is ESSENTIAL! I totally missed that it wasn't intuitive to toss the coins 6 times to make the lines of the hexagram! Sorry if you thought it was broken!
Learned we want features not offered by the current webhost provider, so eventually it will need to be migrated to another host.
Learned that when I'm absorbed in this stuff, I can tune out noise & started a flaming mass of microwave popcorn.
Learned that the smell of burnt popcorn does not leave the house easily.
Learned that the nastiest trolls on IRC can transform into kind teddybears when given the opportunity to teach & mentor.

The project now has a long list of things for the next version, so it may be a while before you see an update. Meanwhile, I'm just thrilled to make something people can enjoy!
