Resurrection

My Name is Tony Macasaet, first born of Rolando and Marjorie, grandson to Helen, who recently passed from the physical, returning to Spirit. It is through her transition that I find myself here.

During the last week of her life I was able to stay with my Grandmother and talk about, well, everything an anything we felt like....as anyone who's had the joy of conversing with Grandma Helen knows.

It made me realize, passing on and exchanging knowledge is one of the best parts of family.

As for me, I believe the 'soul' is as real as the hand is real (more real in fact, than much of what we consider real in 2008). The soul is comprised of ancestors... that is, we are them and they are us.

I believe there is an intertwined effect within groups and species that is self-aware that when combined with other nodes becomes a neural network of divine proportions. Furthermore, the more self-aware a species, the more self -aware the web.

I believe this fabric of effect is as fragile as it is powerful.

My goal is to be defined by the what I have created, the words I have spoken and the effect I have made. I strive to proceed living life as a blessed adventure, filled with occasional strife and immeasurable bliss (and often something in-between). I strive to be awake, humble and selfless... meek, courageous and thoughtful. I believe the most heartfelt path is usually the most sustainable one. A brief life of love is better than longevity with hate.

With each stride through these shrouded lands, it is healing I dare conjure... not as a destination, but as my daily church, my constant holy practice.

For every injured Jedi sage we encounter along the way, whose tearful gaze meets ours... each and every time, it is said... shit, welcome home.

First Ever Viroqua Rave

We pulled it off... despite the blizzard conditions, a first in the history of my eclectic, small hometown of Viroqua, WI. The debut night of our successful Viroqua Town Dance, all-ages Rave.

Within the warm confines of our town Public Market an almost surreal collection of souls...little kids, seniors, teens, hipsters, hippies and town characters. Long-distance travelers and locals alike.... town & country, and a groove that didn't t hush until 4am.

We had an intimidating doorman who opened the way to the Greenman Music Hall for payingpatrons.... Inside, Sable Knight (above) and Bradley expertly spun the vinyl. There was ice cream, espresso and organic pizza at Sibby's just down from the Hall inside the market courtyard.

We are surviving the recent floods.... there was the obvious destruction... but floods also carve new channels that sometimes lead to new degrees of healing and renewal.

Overall, things more good than bad.

Had my first commissioned photo shoot with a trio of dancers. incredible experience.

Viroqua, WI. Sitting tandem on a John Deere tractor at flank speed.

It was late before we arrived at the farm. My sister idled in wait with her cargo... the focal point of the life-and-death rescue operation... her incapacitated friend's seven cats. They, a family without a home, perhaps pound gas chamber bound, but graciously at the threshold of their new organic farm abode.

However, as we rounded the curve into the estate, a one ton cow eyed us suspiciously. The cat release would have to wait!

Not a bull but as the bulls ran in Basque, she (having escaped from the electrified pasture), ran from us head-on into the goring back-road speedway calamity!

Mow without Gas

I dug up my lawn, save for a small token strip, and now... mow without gas.

Two pressed ginkgo leaves, separated (and linked) by 150 years.

As part of our ongoing adventure my co-collaborator and I explored an old family Bible, handed down by her family. There were various notations, prayers, song verses, and loose papers, written in Norwegian from her ancestors, most dating from the mid-nineteenth century.

Several days later I was paging through it once again, and there, on page 1075 (I don't know the verse) a pressed Ginkgo leaf that we assumed must be about 150 years old [the Ginkgo, also known as the fossil tree, is one of the oldest species on the planet; they also live for centuries... there is one in china that is 3000 years old].

The fresh Ginkgo is from my family's tree, planted just twenty years ago (I remember the day we planted it].... now, on the dawn of our collaborative ventures, the two leaves lay together, on page 1075.

I interpret this not as signs that we are on the right track... no, these... are.... messages.

They were swooping by me, calling back and forth between the other (discussing me, I anthropocentrically assumed)... as I sat menacingly below their screeching babies perched in the nest just above my head. I thought they might be angry or afraid and felt guilty.... until that is, we made eye contact.

She and her mate, now accepting of my presence, gleefully nourish their spawn.

Peer into Timeless

it was thirty years ago.
No, wait, it was moments ago...
Her only eternal part
the soul
