| 2nd day of my trip: long 7 hrs drive across Nebraska, plus 1-2 hrs of mountain driving in Wyoming, then turned south into Colorado. It was all snowy and foggy in the high mountains in wyoming, so didnt see much. went dinner with Gretchen (friend from RMT) at a goofy deli in downtown fort collins, and had a very tasty grilled tofu sandwich. 3rd day: the whole fort collins was covered in fog when i woke up, so instead of hiking, i started off the day with a super tasty blueberry pancake at the silver grill cafe, it's the best pancake i've ever had!!! to my surpise, the sky was all cleared up by noon time, and i hiked up to the Greyrock Mountain. the trail was nice and quiet, and with a good ~2,300 ft elevation gain, and the last 100' is all hand climbing. Had a great veggie sandwich on the mountain for lunch... heehee life can't be any better than that. Afterwards, I drove around for another 2 hrs or so for photo opportunities.. but the light conditions weren't that great glad to be able to experience the mountain weather: snow, rain, fog and sunshine in colorado within 1.5 days~ Hee will go to the Rocky Mountain National Park tmr :) | | |
| 1st day of my long haul road trip: crossed wisconsin and iowa, and staying over at Omaha NE tonite. i agree with everyone who drove this route that it's v boring... all flat, and nth but farm field, it took me one energy drink and a starbucks doubleshot to get me here. the only thing that excited me during my 7+ hrs of driving was a wind turbine along the highway. Yet i still have another 8 hrs of driving to go before i reach the rocky mountains >.< Omaha NE is totally opposite from what I had in mind... it's an industrial and well-developed city.. i'm embrarassed about how little i know about this country it was raining so hard in NE today, hope the weather will get better tmr | | |
