  • Midsummer Sunny Flowers - Peruvian Daffodil

Peruvian Daffodil are mid summer flowers. These are white fragrant flowers with green stripes.  They consists of  6 petals and a large cup with projecting  stamens.

They are  noteworthy for their intricate designs and fragrance. Recently I found them in my home garden,  and they got my attention, hiding among the other sweet smelling plants. And then I picked them up and placed them in the front row so everyone can see them in full bloom.

The reason why they are both known as " Peruvian daffodil" and "Spider lily" is because of the fact that their attractive, showy flowers resemble both daffodil and lilies so they are called by this reference. Its a  summer loving flower bud and they do well grown in pots and containers. This plant need a lot of care
    .

    Some common names include
    Spider Lily,
    Basket Lily,
    Ismene,
    Summer Daffodil,
    Sea Daffodil.

  • Trees Breathing (Some more quotes about trees)

"The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a
green thing that stands in the way.  Some see Nature all ridicule and
deformity, and some scarce see Nature at all.  But to the eyes of the
man of imagination, Nature is Imagination itself."
    -  William Blake, 1799, The Letters

"I have always found thick woods a little intimidating, for they are so secret
and enclosed.  You may seem alone but you are not, for there are always
eyes watching you.  All the wildlife of the woods, the insects, birds, and
animals, are well aware of your presence no matter how softly you may
tread, and they follow your every move although you cannot see them."
    -  Thalassa Cruso

  • Two squirrels and a parrot

Okay. This time I have decided to post something different. Anything else except trees. Only just for a change. So, here it goes, a parrot and some squirrels having a feast. They were  hungry to such an extent that they even didn't take notice of anyone around them.. I like the first pic very much because of the reflections.

Now this is not a story of these two squirrels but of  a parrot and his three step by step actions. At first, he was sitting on a tree, completely unaware of his surrounding but then after a while, he thought why he was doing  on a tree all alone by himself, so he came down and started eating with his fellow squirrels.

But after eating to his fullest, it struck to his mind that  he was not at all hungry ..

but rather thirsty...and then finally, (like a thirsty crow) he quenched his thirst..( I was glad he did because it was the best time for us to come more nearer to him but it was our biggest fault, he became nervous after a while)

and  oh, now for the first time, after quenching his thirst, he took a  notice of  me,
then after a minute or so in this erect position,
finally he was again up on a tree.
    *sigh.*

I have taken these images from the Safari Park, Lahore.

My heart asked me

"My heart asked me, What is that thou want? Do you want a world without its Creator? What is that thou want? Do you want wealth without its Giver? What is that thou want? Do you seek happiness but not the Creator of happiness? What is that thou want? Do you want peace without the Giver of Peace? What is that thou want? Do you seek pleasure and comfort but not the Provider of pleasure and comfort? What is that thou want? Do you want security without the Provider of safety? What is that thou want? Do you seek your own self but not the One who created you? What is that thou want? Do you seek to live forever but care not worships the only One who is Eternal? What is that thou want? Do you want paradise without the Creator and Giver of paradise? Do you seek safety form hell but care not to fear the Owner of hell? What is that thou want? Do you want to pray but care not to pay attention to God, and yet you want Him to hear you? What is that thou want? Do want to fast but care not to backbite behind your brother and thus eat his flesh? What is that thou want? Do you want to boast yourself as a grateful servant of God but care not be grateful to your parents? For how shall the one who is not grateful to his mother, who has borne him for 9 months in her womb shall be called as a grateful servant before the Lord? My heart asked me, What is that thou want?"

My heart asked me

  • Love is such a wonderful thing. But what will you do when even this ability to love and feel is taken away, from you?
