  • An Update

Here's a little update for the end of October and the beginning of November:

Work has been busier than ever with Big Game Coverage coming to an end, the infamous and terrifying November ratings, and our coverage of local elections.

What's new? Creative Services gave us a new virtual set for the Night Beat. It doesn't look as real as the previous set, but it is a change in scenery which is a good thing for the most part.

We had a dance last Monday that was pretty spectacular. Everybody looked marvelous and we learned a few new dances (with, might I add, some very funny memories). Pictures coming soon.

School is going well and we're finally over the midpoint of the semester. Math is making sense and government class has been very informative. Jesse is taking calculus and geology and getting straight As. (Way to go, Jesse!)

I'm going to see a film called Bella this afternoon and then go to work. Hope you're all doing great.

    Ready for You
    by Kutless

Lord, You take my heart away with Your love
And I am willing to put on my faith in Your plan

    Come and take my life
Make my soul refreshed in truth now

    I am ready for You
Take my heart and make me new now
    I am ready for You
To come and fill my soul

Cleanse all of my mind that is not of You
Break me, teaching me how to find rest in Your hands

    Whatever it takes
I'm needing to make Your will be done
And I'm letting go of my control
For I see what You've done in me

It's been an amazing week. Last Friday, I got to play with Progeny at the Soul Cafe and the music was very good. It is always a pleasure to play with Ben and Rachel at any place. Things have been pretty normal at work, and I am trying to learn the Python programming language as well as a new(ish) Web framework called Django for some new projects. School is also going pretty well and I am planning to add another half-semester class next week to keep on track with the BBA degree. Finally, God has been doing a lot of work in my life to prepare me for things He has planned for the future. I am finding strength and inspiration in Him and His promises.

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

  • My Favorite Time of Year

This season brings some of the best memories to mind:
    Salado Highland Games
Trips and history tours in New England around Thanksgiving week
Going places with friends and family
    Recorded audio book albums
    Music, games, and festivities

Fall is a season of warmth (or warm fuzzies) for me, a season friendship, and thanksgiving. What are some of your favorite memories during the Fall?
  • Update

Here's what's been going on since the last update: I've been volunteering in KSAT12's Web department for San Antonio's "Big Game Coverage," where 20 high school football teams match up every weekend. Our job is to keep track of all their scores and upload highlight videos to the Website. Photogs rush in with footage of the games on XDCAM discs where they hand them over to us to be edited. Within 15 minutes, we'll have a 3 minute video clip to export to the Website. There are a few interns that have been helping with the score sheet and upload of the videos, and they've been doing a great job getting everything done. It's been an very good opportunity to work with the news and sports departments.
