  • Some really cool websites...

Hello, webland!  I hope this finds all of you well.  It's been a while since I've posted, and some stuff has happened.  Nothing really big, just the regular.

I'm enjoying work.  I am bored occasionally, but overall, it's been fun.  I will be heading to Monterrey, Mexico at some point in the next month.  That should be fun.  The work will be challenging, but that'll be a nice change of pace.  Currently, I just sit at my desk and try to learn how a certain software package could help our company.  While interested, not really mentally stimulating.  Oh well.  I really enjoy the folks I work with, so that makes work fun.

Jenn and I have pets.  They are pet rats.  Yes, I know, I know, ewww, rats!  No, not really.  They are fancy rats.  They are not disease ridden.  They're actually quite cute.  However, in the process of making a cage for them, I attempted to cut my thumb off.  Note:  DO NOT TRY TO CUT YOUR THUMB OFF.  I missed, and just "fileted" it, according to the doctor.  Moral of the story, 25 days later, I'm sitting in the waiting room of my hand doctor.  Hopefully this'll be the final appointment.  I'll post pictures of the girls (Mattie and Teddy) on my website sometime.

Now to the real reason for this post...I learned about a couple of really cool websites last week:

Number 1:  http://del.icio.us/  This is a site that manages bookmarks.  When you add a bookmark, you can tag it, and then search for it.  It's completely web-based, so you can access them anywhere.  Really cool.  Worth checking out.

Number 2:  http://www.netvibes.com/  This website is reminiscient of the late '90's trend for "start pages"  The difference is, they do it right!  NetVibes integrates RSS (Really Simple Sindication) readers, along with modules to check gmail, yahoo mail, etc., ebay, woot.com!, google searches, and more.  Again, this is completely web-based, so you can access it from anywhere.  I'm a fan, and am already addicted.

    Enjoy!

  • Buenos Dias, mi Amigos

Greetings from one of the largest cities in the world...Mexico City.  I'm traveling for work, and was bored, so I decided to check out the Business Center at the hotel.  I'm just now starting to get used to the layout of the keyboard....they move all the punctuation around so they can add letters with accents...makes sense, but it's a little confusing.

I know you are all wondering...no, I haven't been kidnapped, even though Mexico City is known for the kidnappings of business people.  Oh well.  I made it, and it's been a good trip.  Good food, new, fun, experiences.  A good time overall.

The only downside...there's a woot-off right now.  Why, when I don't have access to the internet for long periods of time...oh well...it's probably better.  I will spend MUCH less money.  If you don't know what I'm talking about, check www.woot.com

Otherwise, things are good.  I like being married....My job is fun, and new challenges present themselves every day...

    I think that's all for now...More wooting!

    Adios

  • My Vices...

    Hello everyone in xangaland!

So, what's it been, almost two months?  Wow.  I should update more.  Oh well.  You get what you can, when you can, eh?

In the past few days, I have found two new, amazingly wonderful addictions.  first, a nifty site called woot. The basic idea is that they offer a different product each day.  You can purchase 1, 2, or 3 of the items from 12:00 a.m. (CST) to 11:59 p.m. (CST).  If they run out, you're out of luck until the next item is posted the next day.  If they have any left at the end of the day, they're gone...  Well, I've been watching the site for a month or two now, but I've never purchased.  That changed today, becacuse of this great (yet dreadful) thing called the "woot-off!"  For a short period of time (24-72 hours), woot.com throws their item schedule out the window, and offer a new item each time an item sells out.  Sometimes they have 50 of an item, sometimes they have 1700, you never know.

Sounds great, you say?  Well, yes.  However, not wanting to miss a great deal has allowed me an excellent excuse not to work on my Project today.  That, is bad.  So yeah, woot.com, please help me.  Stop the woot-off!

Well, it's about time for a new item, I better get going!

I'll probably update again soon...another great procrastination excuse!

    peace out.

About Me

  • welcome to my little corner of the xanga world. a number of you have gotten these fun little sites, and I figured I would join in, because I am a sheep, I mean, a barfing goat. Oh well, at least it will be a good way to keep in touch when we get back to school. I'm new to this whole thing, so bear with me as I get used to updating it on a regular basis...we'll see how that goes...
