| It's been a while...Sorry it has been so long since I have posted anything. I have big news! Derrick and I are engaged! He asked me December 27th here in Columbus at my apartment. That's all the information I am giving anyone! We are hoping to have a summer wedding after I graduate in 2009. In other news school is going well. I passed all of my classes, I was worried that I was going to get a marginal in Old Testament but I didn't. Right now we have J-Term and the only class I have is handbells. It is only seven days for 3 1/2 hours a day. I only have three classes left! I am super excited to go home this weekend and be with Derrick and my family. I will start substitute teaching next week here in columbus. This will really help my declining financal situation! Then February 4th second semester starts. Not to worry this second semester will be much better than the first, I hope! Well that's all for now. | | |
| Well, It wan't really that bad...Thanksgiving was actually not that bad... Derrick and I went to his parents house for lunch. We laughed and had wonderful conversation, no fighting! For dinner we went to my dads' counsin Judy's house. There was a little tention and bad conversation but nothing too horrible. I'm pretty sure that Dad and Derrick had a wonderful conversation!!! Friday night Derrick, his Dad and I went to Sam B's in BG for a birthday party. It was actually a lot of fun. I really enjoy that part of Derricks family! Saturday was Thanksgiving with my Mom, I told her to make Potato Soup! I LOVE my moms potato soup! It was soooo good. Then we went shopping and picked out the rest of my christmas presents..!!! hahah yeah i know... Sunday was Thanksgiving at The Fletchers. The food was amazing and suprisingly no body fought! That night I was roped into playing for The Hanging of the greens service at Brenda's church. It actually went very well. And they are going to pay me!!! YEAH!!! I miss my Derrick... But he will be here Saturday and we are celebrating his Birthday Sunday evening!!! I guess I should get ready for school now... | | |
| Holidays...So I don't really like the holidays anymore.. For some reason I get really depressed. Things just never seem to go the way that they should. There is always someone that refuses to be flexible and puts a wrench into everyone's plans. I just pray that the rest of my life is not like this. I want to have my own family and do what I want to do on the holidays, not what everyone else wants me to do. For once I want something to go my way! I want something to be about me! I feel the need to be selfish right now... I just need something good to happen. Something to give me hope for the future and the rest of the year. School is school... it's hard but I get through it. I thought I would have a little repreve in January but I guess not because May wants me to take an independent study!!! I'm so sick of everyone telling me what I should or shouldn't do!! I just want to live my own life. I want to listen to God's plan for my life, not everyone elses! Maybe what God wants is not what my parents want... I just want to be HAPPY!! | | |
| Monday!I am so freakin tired this morning!!! I'm so excited for Thanksgiving!! As much as I say I'm dreading going home I guess I'm really not... I love my family and I also love Derricks family. Life is difficult right now but I'm sure it will get better. I'm just trying to be patient for the big event!!! God is showing me just how lucky I am to have an amazing man like Derrick. It is amazing that God knew I needed him... Derrick is an answer to my prayers and my soul mate. I can honestly say that he is my best friend given to me by God... | | |
| My Lord What a Mornin..."My Lord what a mornin, when the stars begin to fall." I love this spiritual! Anyway... I had an absolutely wonderful weekend!! Thursday night Erin and I went to a Taize service downtown then to Spaghetti Warehouse for dinner! What an awesome evening. Friday I had lots of errands to run then Derrick, Mom & Aunt Janet, and Dad came for my concert, Haydn's Mass in Time of War. The service was beautiful!! Betsy and I did a killer job on the Psalm! Saturday Derrick & I spent most of the day... well.. anyway at night we went to Skangum for Concert Choir's Fall Concert. May I say they were wonderful!! What glorious tone!! I was so proud of my Alma Mater! And of course Creno's afterward!! We won't talk about yesterday because I get hysterical when Derrick leaves. Back in the swing of things today with homework and more homework. Lots of Love, Mary Ann | | |
