"Brockies"ok Linda this is for you as promised.. 3/4 cup (1 1/2 stick) of butter 1 cup of sugar 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar 3 eggs 1 tsp vanilla 2 1/2 cup flour 2 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1 cup mini m&m (or whole bag)(we have tried normal and semi sweet we like both) 350 degree oven in lightly greased 9 x 13 pan in one bowl cream 3/4 cup butter and both sugars until light and fluffy; then add the eggs and vanilla. In a different bowl put in 2 1/4 cups flour, baking powder, and salt. Slowly add this to the creamed mixture. When they have both been combined divide in half. Add 1 more Tbl spoon of melted butter and the cocoa in to half of the mixture. Spread this half on the bottom of the pan. Stir the last 1/4 cup of flour and 1/2 cup of the m&m's in to the remaining dough. Spread this over the cocoa dough and then sprinkle the last of the m&m's on top. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until it starts to pull away from the sides. This is the actual recipe however here are a couple tweaks I have done. I use the whole bag of m&m's and add it to both layers. The bottom layer seems a little bland without the m&m's. Also while you are mixing the white part put the brown part in the fridge it makes putting on the top part a little easier. I wish you could see the picture but essentially what they look like is a brown brownie type substance on bottom with a white cookie on top. Hence the name "Brockie" I hope you enjoy these as much as we do. Call me if you have any questions. |
