If I hadn't by chance browsed my xanga again and seen those messages, I would have abandoned this site, which I almost have. For my insanely caring chanpuichi, I decided to pick up writing things here again. I have to search my brain now for things happened in the last few months.....but better to write about today, at least I know where to begin with. I didn't go to work today n woke up at 2 sth, with no intent. << Angels & Demons >> filled my time and I was intrigued. Once you've started reading a book, it's hard to stop. Even at 3 in the morning, you still wanna know how the story go, which is exactly what I wanna do now.....I'll continue my recap of the last few months tomorrow.

Went to a jazz bar called Ned Kelly's in tst two weeks ago. It's an Australian bar but the owner looks pretty Irish. It's kinda neat. I love jazz music, it can be soft, upbeat, raging, relaxing and sometimes uplifting. The stage is quite extraordinary, it's actually a huge staircase with three levels and it's fenced on the first row. The band is like commercial products on a display rack, hehe!! Met three Londoners there and you really have to pay attention to understand the strongly accented English!!! just nodded along when I got confused....haha. Worst hangover on the next day...actually the following two days, I swear I won't do that to myself again! My threshold is lowering... so i'll have just enough to feel all good and relaxed and wake up without losing my head the next day.

Valentine's Day, not my day. Planned to make dinner at my sis's place but it's too late after work. We dined in the petit Japanese restaurant we often visit in TaiKoo. My appetite out of no apparent reason has been getting bigger and bigger....later the night I had sushi while watching I believe is the most ridiculous movie on this planet, but it sure was a good laugh. My sis made me a double shot...but sushi don't go well with Bailey's! and even with so much ice it still tastes so much stronger than those outside, they'r really ripping us off. On the same day, different continents, there's a girl I love who's being strong, she has a revelation that's gonna carry her through the coming two months. She has the power, we have the power!!

At work, everybody is rushing to meet deadlines which have already been dead anyway, haha!! I guess it's a norm in publishing, almost everything is behind schedule, so what's the point of having one?!  Everybody has been crazed in a way that we all joke about our 'dead' deadlines, and tell each other how much work that's undone or not yet even started!! haha....but the weird thing is...there seems to be no tension or pressure cuz everybody OT and work late.....sipping coffee and snacking to stay awake. Misery loves company? nah....i won't put it that way, but exactly the opposite, we all strive to get the work done!! It feels so gooooood !!

Last friday I was invited to a petite party at Jade's place in mid-level, it was a lovely apartment with walls filled with pictures in frames!! I always wish to do that with my walls haha. It's so gross that I threw up all over her bathroom floor, I'm so so so sorry!! it must have been Daisy's mojito or the white wine!! I was sober after emptying my stomach while Daisy was totally hammered. When we were dancing in D'apartment, i just couldn't help laughing under the light where anything white turns fluorescent!! believe me, we got teeth that are brighter than neon lights!! Big big grin!! I saw Karl in there (the mix in the old MaBelle ad)....so gorgeous!

2nd day of CNY, I watched the fireworks on a boat, it's just amazing though the smoke was blocking part of the view, but still. Surprisingly the vibration wasn't that strong but the view was perfect, that's the best night view of Victoria Harbour!! You wouldn't believe how packed the water was, you have boats on your left and your right, at your back and fortunately not ahead cuz we were on the frontline!!! Motion sickness took some people down on the boat, I'm just grateful that's not a problem for me...how can you miss the fireworks!!  I hurried to meet the girls in Jordon afterwards and we sang till 4, it's such a blast!!

Year of Dog....a year for the Pigs!!! hehe

What do you know....I'm an editor in Oxford University Press now!!

I've started working 2 weeks ago and it's just amazing. I love my job!!! First of all, it's editorial work about science particularly Biology, though it isn't really what I'm looking for...but still I got to learn the basic editing skills and things about the publishing industry! plus it's so close from home....literally just right next to my other home!!! My familiarity with the place kinda make it so much easier for me to start. The people couldn't be more hilarious and relaxed...my senior editor and editorial manager were so laidback that they just can't stop joking and laughing!!! So far no snobs or smug people to deal with. On top of these....we got paid for OT and it's 5-day work, though the wage isn't very remarkable but what more could I ask for!! Working in a British company gives you all those benefits that you could never get from HK companies nowadays.

Nice beginning for 2006 The Year of Dog.

Has 2005 been your year? heLL! forget it....what's your resolution this year?

I spent new year's eve in Insomnia with a bunch of people I don't even care....except one. Technically there was no countdown cos everybody's oblivious to that while the band was performing.....I thought they'd initiate the countdown. One year I've experienced 3 to 4 countdowns on the street in cwb....apparently people just followed their own watch. First day of 2006 I went cycling with Scott and Joyce....I happened to rent the exact same bike as last time...what are the chances!! this time it's ridden instead of pushed along....haha. Near dusk I've lost track of the two of them when I arrived at an interception...wondering where the hell were they...a bit mad at them...couldn't figure out which way to go and dared not to risk while the roads have gotten all dark and eerie... so I turned around and rode all the way back to the renting place and waited for them. They said they heard dogs barking when searching for me. You should never leave a beginner behind!!!

My babe is coming back in April, how exciting....I miss her so so so much!! It's still vivid to me talking to her on the phone in a hotel room in Paris overlooking the airport runway....she's about to leave Hong Kong for her new life in Canada while I was anxiously stuck in Paris in hopes of catching the next flight back home. It's been almost 2 years.

Have you ever spent $70 on a movie? Today i watched King Kong with Daisy and they said because it lasts for 3 hrs, the price has to be adjusted! It didn't happen with Titanic...they're totally ripping us off!! Luckily it turned out to be a great movie in spite of all the events that are almost impossible to have taken place: a giant gorilla fighting with a T-Rex over a girl who can outrun a raptor on an island where people can actuallly survive being inside a stampede, and where ridiculously over-sized insects all attack on the same prey at the same time??!!! Wow...movie really is magic, it gets you to believe in everything you see....not all the time, but at least when the film is still rolling.

I find arranging pictures into photo albums very pleasurable...especially when you got piles and piles of them and you have them categorized chronologically, by genre or any way you want...just finished my family photo album...I can get a bit obsessive with this....actually I'm gonna develop those digital ones taken with my friends and enjoy some more fun...haha. may be I'll label them too.
