. . . and 5X optical zoom, and a view screen the size of my fist (well, almost). Oh, I love my new camera so. Although, it's way smaller and lighter than my last one, so there's a good chance I'll accidentally crush it with my Hulk-like hands. And it was on sale! That's my favorite part.
So, now all I have to do to get ready for our trip is: finish the laundry, pack, color my hair, read my camera manual, and get up before dawn on Saturday. No problem, man.
What is up with my stupid background on my stupid blog?
Well, if Friday had sucked any harder, I'd be inside out. Completely crappy day. But the weekend was alright. Saturday I stopped at Robina's to buy a new Creative Memories album. It's a very pretty sky blue. And then I went to Lowe's to buy Troy a new weedeater. His old one broke a couple of weeks ago, and there was a HUGE weed in front of one of my flower beds. I told Troy that if he didn't do something about it we'd have to feed it, clothe it and name it.
And Sunday was great, because I got 8! scrapbook pages done for the snazzy new album. I'd let you see them, but my pictures are not uploading very well, so you'll have to see them later. I'm thinking about going camera shopping this week. I want to have a new camera for our trip to Chicago this weekend. The camera I have now is 5 megapixels, and the ones I've been seeing advertised lately are all like 8 megapixels, so that would be exciting. If your into pixels, I mean.
A man near where we live put a sign up to advertise his new business. It says, "Steve's Iorn Works". I can only assume he meant Iron Works. I have to drive by it all the time, and typos stress me. I wish someone would tell Steve.
And today was pretty good, as boring week days go. I saw a humming bird flying around our deck this morning. And I've never seen a real live hummingbird up close like that. It was neat. I went right out and bought a hummingbird feeder.
And Sophie had math tutoring today, and he said she was doing great.
And then I got to watch Aiden play in the baby pool while Sophie had her swimming lesson in the big pool. That boy is like a fish. He kept flinging his whole body down in the water and pushing himself around on the bottom with his head sticking out. He may never need lessons. He'll probably just know how to swim like I did.
I still have some planning to do for this weekend, but I'm getting excited about it. I found a great hotel, right by the lake. We're going to Navy Pier, we're going to the Taste of Chicago Festival in Grant Park (Stevie Wonder's gonna be there!), and we can take a water taxi down to Shedd Aquarium! If we have time, I'd like to go shopping at the Water Tower Mall (is that what's it's called, I forget.) But who knows? Lots to do! And we need a vacation!!

Alright, here are some of the cookout pictures, but some are still missing. My computer is being difficult about uploading them, it needs to go in for a tune-up. It's gonna have to wait until after our trip, though. I have too much other stuff to do.
My cookout pictures are not wanting to upload right now. So, instead, I'll tell you about Aiden's helmet. After he got it, he decided not to take it off, like ever. He wore it all day Saturday, shopping at Lowe's, and then eating out for lunch. Troy was embarrassed, but I figured, who cares? He's an interesting kid.
Yesterday, he wore his Scooby slippers to Wal-Mart.
