Speaking Again

I'm speaking at Relevant Life Church this Sunday on "Why the Bible?"  This will be third time I've spoken since the church started in April.  That means that I've spoken three times as much in three months than I did the previous four years before this.

Thanks to all those that gave me advice on the "Post-talk Blues."  I am going to integrate those suggestions into my preparation and post-talk.

Post-Talk Blues

I spoke in church yesterday on the "Story of Two Sons."  I love to speak in front of people, and enjoy the feedback I get.

However, I've noticed a strange phenomenon.  The day after I speak, no matter how well I did, I get depressed.  Cara told me I did a great job.  My friends at church told me I did a great job.  But it doesn't seem to matter.  I mean, it was hard to get motivated to get up this morning.

Has anyone else experienced this?  If so, how did you deal with it?

Good news...bad news

Yesterday I spoke at Relevant Life Church www.relevantlifechurch.com. It was the first time that I was given the opportunity to speak in a church setting in over four years.  Even though I only had five days to prepare, Cara said that it was the best that she has ever heard me.  I would have to agree.

The bad news is that my talk didn't actually get recorded.  So, I can't share it with anyone...unless you're REALLY bored and want to read my script.

Monty's Talk

I'm speaking at Relevant Life Church this Sunday at 10:30.  Its the first time that I've spoken in front of a large group of people since Spring 2003.  So I haven't done this in about 4 years.

I spoken to smaller groups of people since then, but its always been very informal.  I'm excited for this opportunity.  It should be posted online early next week.  I'll let everyone know.

It pays to drive to Pasco

Cara and I drove to Pasco, WA (2 1/2 hour drive, one way) and back last night.  The Northwest Ministry Network conference was there.  Dr. Mark Rutland was the speaker.  he did a good job.  Afterwards there was a social time with other church planters.  Our table also a Starbucks gift card for identifying the most hymns.

Go figure.
