Interview is tomorow, so of course I cannot fall asleep as I should. I guess the feeling that this could be The Job alarms me, forces me to stop acting like I want to grow up and just grow up, if that makes any sense. It is not my dream job, but I would be working in NYC, inevitably moving there to save the 185 monthly pass and put it toward the rent of my miniscule apartment.

After the interview, I will be returning home w/ the verdict and depending on what happens, be celebrating or sulking before moving on. Tuesday would be my relaxation period, with a Monk marathon in order. I deserve it after the action packed week I've had. I need not get into all of it since I dont feel like writing another novel just yet. But, I will say that the good stuff greatly outnumbers the bad. I got to read the sixth Harry Potter book and in a couple weeks, I will be reading the final book. I know the geist of what happens, but it will be nice to get the whole story. I forgot how good ate the books really were and how the movies make so much more sense having read them.

So, Friday, I was at the beach all day with Kristen and her family. My "Irish tan" appeared in mini blotches on my chest and legs. That is with the application of sunscreen, but failure to reapply it. My own fault. Saturday, I was at Sean's grad party w/ my own family. It was nice seeing them again, since we havent seen all of them together for a couple years, it seems. We played Frogs and Flies, aka dodgeball by yourself, ate some food including make your own taco and baked ziti, not to mention a half dozen different desserts, and just chatted with the fam and their friends. An overall good time.

Today was Aunt Gloria's wake. It was a long drive to and from, and very awkward considering nobody besides Dad knew anyone there other than AG. So, we had to do the whole introduction thing and stand around, talking amongst ourselves and the others briefly.

Ok, I think I will try to fall asleep, so wish me luck tomorow!!! I will need it!

My novel is not going well, so I will put it to bed for a while.

Today was a day for daydreaming. With no real job, I have plenty of time to do it, but today was a day I permitted myself to take sweet advantage of my overactive imagination. I began by thinking how different my life will be once I have a real job. I will rising early, boarding the train into the stuffy and overcrowdedly wonderful NYC every morning. I will stop by Starbucks so many times they will know my name. I will walk into work in my new stylish work clothing, my young adult outfits in storage until the weekend when I can sleep til noon. I will work til 5-530 and be home by 6-630, stumbling tired down the street to my house where I will pet Jenny and Penny using my random zings of energy before grabbing dinner and retreating to my room, where I will inevitably pass out or read til I pass out.

Later on, I got to planning my sister's wedding, which is weird since they are not engaged but will be by the end of July. Pretty much everyone knows it except for KT, which makes it all right to mention it here. We have the ring, TYVM, and permission from her father. All we are waiting for is the proposal, which was said to be occuring in July.

I met up w/ Claire at the pool following an awkward dinner alone w/ my parents and we got to talking about the wedding, keeping in mind his ideas and figuring out hers since she has no preference on... anything? Is that even normal? I have my entire dream wedding locked in my head sans who I will be sharing the day w/ and here is my sister, practically engaged herself, and she's got nothing going on up there concerning the big day. I guess that sort of thing is not for everyone. Or maybe she's not concerned since she knows she's got people in her family who will take care of it for her?

Anyway, we have our ideas for a Fall wedding motif and will need some estimates before going any further. It didnt occur to me that so much was involved: invitations, party favors, engagement party, bridal showers, centerpieces, bouquet and all that jazz. Now, I know why they have wedding planners for this. We are aiming for a Fall 09 wedding so we will have plenty of time to work on it, lolz.

Other news. Meeting w/ job recruiter is W-day. Hopefully something will come of that. I guess I will just continue to apply and hope someone likes me? Mom says I'm not doing anything wrong. It just should have started sooner, a fact I am totally aware of and accepting of.

Aries: Don't lose faith.Keep your spirits up. Others may try 2 drag you down. But pay no attention. Enjoy your own company if all else fails. Love cheers you up-eventually.

All of the above are totally true, so I will choose to keep them in mind. And on that note, time for my hour of writing. Then, sleep.

With the thunder outside, it feels cool for the first time all day. I made the careless mistake of suggesting a walk w/ cara, only to realize the moment I stepped outside that the temp had increased almost violently from yesterday. Right now, it is about 75 degrees out and randomly dripping rain and clapping thunder. I dont see any lightning, but I'm not staring out the window, so as far as I know that could be going on, as well.

Cara is passing out on Liz's bed, so I thought it would be a nice time to update, albeit not all that much has gone on since last real entry. I had a phone interview w/ the huntington learning center, which I thought went well. They are considering me for a job as an assistant director in Carle Place and Manhassett Park, both of which are easily accesible by train. In addition to that, I'm enlisting the help of two job recruiters, maybe one in Boston. It would be a cheaper place to live than NYC, although I will miss my girls. I dont get to see some of them enough as it is, so I would barely see them if I moved to Boston, but I guess I have to do what I have to do.

My ideal locale is a city, NYC or Boston. Both have their pros and cons and both would be fantastic places to inhabit. NYC and its beautiful parks, ritzy hotels and fascinating people -Naked Cowboy, anyone?- is more expensive. Boston and its historic charm won me over when I forced myself to visit last October. I spent some time in Copley, where the Boston library is and I fell in love with it. Although a writer may put pen to paper anywhere, as I am doing now, Boston is more likely to embrace the profession than NY.

I was talking to someone from The Boston Review and he gave me some magazines and places to check out if I ever move up there. I have them all written down, so there's no need to put them here. But, I have checked them out and will be paying them visits next time I'm up there, which should be at the end of the month.

Speaking of which, I am officially halfway through my novel, go me. Five stories down and five more to go. I have a two month deadline so hopefully I can finish it in time. It took me a while to get this far since I am job searching at the same time, but I think I will leave it up to the recruiters now. Too many rejections has left me discouraged, almost expecting it each time I apply somewhere.

Loose ends, indeed.

Y-day was the Belmont fair so I went to watch CJ march w/ his firefighters. I hung out w/ Kris and Kat, til the end of the parade, when we lost her to CJ. So Kris and I stuck around, talked to some people and then headed over to Barnes and Noble, duh. We went into some stores, including the one owned by Andrew's sister. Very nice store, kind of expensive, but I figure it has to be in GC. So, we also bumped into Andrew and Mrs. Duff. I thought it would be awkward, but it really wasnt. They've gotten over what happened and after a final word about it w/ Andrew, so have I.

Moving on, this week creeped by with still no job to show for it, but hopefully that will change next week when I see a job recruiter. I have to be qualified for something, ya know? Til that time comes when I'm full time employed, I can continue my book, which is half done. Two more stories are jumbling around in my head, one of which was a dream the other night -shocking, no?- so we will see how it turns out.

Anything else? Hmm. I'm seeing "Sex and the City" tonuight, so hopefully that will be good. I've heard good things.
