Apology

I just have to write a quick blog entry apologizing to the IRS. It seems that they really are smart there. We got our refund yesterday and they were in fact smart enough to take out the remainder of what we owed them from last year from our balance from this year before sending it to us! So yay, that means we don't have to send them a check and then wait four months for it to clear again! YAY! Congratulations IRS on proving yourselves to be smart!

Update

Just an update. Still working at the kennel. Things are picking up there with the warmer weather, so that's good. I had a job interview with the Alumni office at Taylor, but was passed up for (rumor has it) an extremely qualified person (Masters and everything!) So apparently I haven't found the right job yet. I've got another few that I could apply for and I figure this is a good time of year to look at the Indy Zoo again, that would be fun. So I'll probably do that. Um... other than that... Not much is going on. Nick's only got a few weeks of classes left and then the year is over, and there are some job possibilities for him for this summer. More cemetery projects and working for Dr. Nawrocki in the lab. Beyond that not much on the horizon.

We did our taxes and for the first time in our married life we don't owe anything! YAY US! So whatever we get back we can throw at our bills and that will be good. Obviously we are assuming that the IRS is not clever enough to take out the remainder of what we owe from last year to what we'll be getting back this year, so once we get our refund we'll have to send them another check... Funny how that works, huh...

Um... anything else to tell all you wonderful xanga people? Sunbeam apparently doesn't like velvety yellow couches. We had noticed that she never sits on the couch we have in the sitting room (which if you haven't guessed is velvety and yellow) and we thought maybe it was because it smelled too much like other cats, but today I put a blanket on it covering all the velvety yellowness and she's happily napping on it! I wonder if the problem is the velvety part or the yellow part?

Well, that's all the nonsense I can think of spouting at you guys, so... Bye for now!

Cute Purse!

I just have to blog about this cute purse I got from my sister-in-law for Christmas! I hadn't been able to use it yet, because the straps were too short, but today I got materials to make longer straps from Hobby Lobby and some velcro to sew at the top to keep it shut and now I can use it! It's a picture of Wobbuffet my favorite Pokemon! Marlene is the greatest for making such a cute bag!

Wob Purse

In other news, I'm still working at the Kennel and still happy there, we've got some fun and cute dogs there right now, in addition to a few of the more obnoxious constant barking types. And I'm excited cause I'm taking some days off so I can go visit Dan and Marlene this weekend! That'll be lots of fun!

That's all for now!

Funny email forward

This is just an email forward I got from my Aunt Gaye. I thought it was funny and so I decided to share it with all you folks out there! Aren't you lucky!

~~

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am." The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees 49.09 minutes west longitude."

She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Republican." "I am," replied the man. "How did you know?" "Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."

The man smiled and responded, "You must be a Democrat." "I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?" "Well," said the man, "You don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but now, somehow, it's my fault."

~~

Hope you enjoyed it! Have a great day!!

Fine, an Update

Since someone has desperately asked for an update here is an update.

Still working at Pineacre Kennels, if you live in the Muncie, Indiana area and need a place to kennel your dog I highly recommend it, it's a great place! They also do grooming and sell Eagle brand dog and cat food. Nick got a call from a program called Build (it's a tutoring program) and the had a tutor quit so he's going in on Monday to interview with them. Wish him luck.

Um... in other news... We rearranged the bedroom and the sitting room. The bedroom cause I finally got my dresser from my Mom's house and needed to make room for it. Now the room works perfectly!! And the sitting room because we were never really happy with it and I'd been thinking of ways to get some of the visual clutter (busy bookshelves, filing cabinets and crafting bookshelves) out of Nick's visual range to help him be able to relax in that room. We were successful and now it works perfectly too!

So... um... Guess that's it... Aren't you glad I updated?
