hola.

Random list:

1. I splurge on high thread count bedsheets, for my ironically very cheap Ikea children's bed.
2. I've been wearing this one pair of pajama bottoms for the past 5+ year, which are Old Navy Men's XS that were $4.99.
3. I get really annoyed when my mom doesn't use the proper sized trash bag.  I.e., she uses the Target bags for our 13-gallon kitchen trashcan because when I throw away something heavy, the bag sinks to the bottom.  Also, when the garbageman comes, he's got like 17 mini grocery bags worth of trash to pick up instead of the usual like two normal sized bags that our neighbors have.  (her excuse is because the bags are free and we don't have to buy as many real trash bags).
4. I find it funny that M is highly perplexed at the tiny useless mini-pocket that's on a few polo shirts I own.  It's only big enough to hold a quarter.....I don't get it either really but what can I say?...the shirts were 2 for $20.
5. Spending more than 5 minutes in Yankee Candle will give me a instand headache.  Odor overload.
6. I think I'm going to have ugly knarled hands when I'm older because I still pop my knuckles.

I bought a Nissan Sentra to replace the Civic.  I feel like I got a lot of flack for buying the Sentra.  Some folks were like "The Sentra!?  Yes, the Sentra.  I just didn't like the new Civic body style.  The Sentra, however, is caught in this weird place which is a great bargaining chip.  Note***skip ahead if you want to bypass my promotion of my car***  The sentra used to be one if not THE cheapest of their cars. That place has now been replaced by the Nissan Versa (same price range as the Corolla).  Above the Sentra is the Altima (out of my price range) and above that is the Maxima.  People who want the cheapest car now buy the Versa.  People with more money go for the Altima.  The poor little Sentra is left behind for ppl like me to haggle and snatch up.  The coolest perks are the Bluetooth and the Intelligent Keyless Entry.  And all for invoice price. =)  They even gave me the upgraded audio package for free!

Next news....BASIC had a dance this past Saturday. It was endorsed by PFred since we had to have it at HCC due to not enough space anywhere else.  It was for a girls appreciation night which included dance lessons!  M and I taught swing and two-step so it was a lot of fun.....and ppl really got into it.  It made me remember how much I love to swing....but it was too dangerous to do any throws or stuff like that. There's talk of a Part II but we'll see what happens.

Okie...that's it for now.  Bedtime calls....More laters.

tagged by Harrison but I can only think of four...

The Rules:  Each player of this game starts with the 6 weird things about you.  People who get tagged need to write in a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state the rules clearly.  In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names.  Don't forget to leave a comment that says you are tagged in the comments and tell them to read your blog.

1.  When I eat Nerds candy, I pour out some in my hand and eat them from smallest to largest.

2.  I like to cut all my sandwiches into either 2 or 4 triangular wedges.  Never into squares.  Never.

3.  When I was younger, I could never watch other ppl brush their teeth or gargle b/c it would produce this gag reflex in me.  I'd either leave the room or look away.  I know...weird.

4.  M pointed out that I like to combine words to make a new word that really isn't in the English language like "spoonatula" ( a spoon and spatula combo).

Was brought up over gelato on Sunday that I need to update.  I'll dedicate this to the sugarland Cheangs.

*sigh*  Goodbye, little Civic.  You were taken way before you time.

My My

I got into a little accident last week.  Basic summary:
1.  Stalled car in fast lane on Hwy 90.
2.  It was raining and at night so I didn't realize the headlights ahead of me weren't moving forward until I got closer.
3.  Braked pretty hard to stop but did so in time and didn't hit the stalled car.
5.  Moved to put my hazards on when a Ford F150 hit me from behind and then I hit the car in front of me.
6.  As you can see from the pics above, he swerved at the end so the impact was mostly on the back right corner.

Reflecting on it, God was most gracious that night.  I wasn't hurt except for scratching up my hand a little when it hit the console.  I'm really fortunate I was alone and nobody was in the backseat b/c i think they would have gotten really injured.  All the insurance stuff has gone really smoothly but  they declared my car a total loss!...which means I have to find a new car.  Excited?  Not really.  I really liked my Civic.  I'm actually a little stressed over it.  I only have the rental till Sat.....which gives me less than a week to buy one.  Nope, not excited at all.

I'm the type that researches car reviews and stuff like crazy.  The car dealerships hate me.  I'm not exactly too fond of visiting them either.  And they always look and me and do stupid things...i.e. when I looked for the Civic, one dealership guy tried to sell it to me for $23,000.   HAH.  I was like "Um....is it made of gold?"

........i'm trying to make this post interesting and talking to M at the same time so I asked him to give me a random topic to write on.  He chose "lemon pepper".  *sigh*  Of all the topics, he chooses a seasoning.  Why, you ask?  Well, i was at his house earlier and he told me he was going to have leftover chicken wings and says how they would be better if they were lemon pepper chicken wings.  We ended up going to Kroger's to get a bottle.  And then we went to McDonald's b/c he was craving fries oh-so-badly.  I'll just write a list of many of M's fave things to eat:

1.  CHIPOTLE.  I put it in all caps because he could literally eat there every day.
2.  Lemon pepper chicken wings.  (Pluckers in Austin)
3.  Rudy's
4.  Lupe Tortilla (fajitas)
5.  Pappasitos (fajitas)
6.  Goode Company (Jalepeno Sausage)
...list starts to encompass a lot of "student-friendly" establishments
7.  McDonald's French Fries.
8.  Burger King $1 Junior Whoppers
9.  Taco Bell
10.  Schlotsky's (we've actually never been together since it costs an arm to eat there without coupons)

okie...i'm done for the night.

Dim Sum on a Tuesday

Today was a fun day.  I got a call in the morning for PG letting me know that there was a dim sum lunch gathering of all these old college friends I haven't seen in FOREVER.  Considering I was in the med center, it was a pretty far drive for lunch.  But the more I thought about it, most of these folks are out of state now and I rarely get a chance to see them.

I ended up talking a 2.5 hour lunch!  It was a lot of fun just seeing faces that are familiar yet distant if that makes any sense.  One works in CA for the EA Games company.  He told me he works on the Sims games and I'm asking "OMG, did you work on Sims Pets??!" as if he's a celebrity. Found out one of the other guys that lives in NJ and who got married last year had a baby girl.  It's pretty cool to see where folks ended up after college.

Has it already been almost 6 years since I graduated college??  Unbelievable.  And then I found out my 10 year HS reunion is sometime this year.  *geez*.

As for more long overdue updates:

1.  BASIC party at my house was fun.  God's blessed me with a very nice house which I really want to use as a place for fellowship.  I really appreciated everyone who came out and brought their friends.

2.  Birthday was fun too.  Due to a 1pm wedding, I got surprised at a 8am breakfast.  A little cruel to wake up that early after a 2am bedtime but my special 10 friends who got up that early for me made it worth it. =)

3. M gave me the boardgame Ticket to Ride for Xmas.  Go to boardgamegeek.com and see how it rates...it's super fun!
