random thoughts

1. this election is utterly fascinating...though I choose to invest my energy in chuckling about the ironies with jon stewart.

2. gaaah, moving is horrid. well, looking for a place to move TO is horrid. then packing and moving is equally horrid.

3. i have grown a heart for badminton. a recent trip to the fluorescent and cost-savings terrific 99 cent store gave me the pleasure of indulging in miniature 99 cent watermelons (sweet n' delightful) and a badminton set. 2 net-like scarves and a roll of clear tape produced the closest thing to a tennis that $2 could buy. love it.

4. 58 days and counting.

It's about time.

It's about time that I come to my senses, that after running at full speed for the last year, I take a deep breath and retreat.  Retreat not into despair but into the life-giving moments that will help me (re)collect those pieces of me I left in a muddled heap not too long ago.

It's about time I took a deep breath, wiped that last lingering teardrop and take a look around.  To see the gift of life and livelihood that I've been blessed with.  To shake things off and rise up from the ashes into hope and life and to take care of 'me'.  It's about time.

First task: A damn good cup of coffee on a breezy summer day.  Here

Second: The power of exceptional art and the way it can encapsulate and draw out feelings and emotions far beyond words on a page.

I just came to the realization that I really should get my laptop fixed (8 month+), so that I can start writing and blogging again. really.

Love is...

"I define love thus: The will to extend one's self for the purpose of nurturing one's own or another's spiritual growth."  -S. Peck
