Harry Potter--- it was supposed to be the movie of the summer. Supposed to be. ... I kinda see why it lost to Transformers.

I wouldn't say I'm HP's #1 fan, but.. still quite nuts over it, haha. (Planning to go at 6am to pick up the book, wheee. xD) Aaand let's just say this was kind of a disappointment. Maybe it's cos the movie shouldn't be compared with the book. To me, it was like, a few different scenes all bunched up together. Something was missing. The plot didn't floww.

Or maybe it's the characters. Draco Malfoy didn't have more than 2 lines in the show.. I looved Luna Lovegood though. xPP.. Umbridge was just plain annoying.. but in an amusing way.

Zzz.. I still think that people who haven't read the book would enjoy it better cos you wouldn't know what to expect.-Although jou does have a point about how people who've read the book would understand it better.-Mm.. they cut out a lot of parts. It's like chopping off an arm and a leg. In the book, there was this part where Harry got to find out more about his dad even though he initially thought that his dad was some sort of a jerk, after having a peek at Snape's schoolboy memories. For some reason, I liked that part.

But did they include that? Nooo. They just included the part where Harry accidentally broke into Snape's memory bank. Then after that? Nothing. Zip. Nada.

Maybe I'm just too much of a critic. You should still go watch it for yourself cos I mean, it's Harry Potter we're talking about here. x)

Ooh, and I'm gonna see the 3D version of it on Saturday. Maybe it'll have a better impact on me... maybe.

I have decided not to put anymore memorable quotes.. might count as a spoiler. (according to chernyao, it does, haha.)

Overall grade: C+. (I'm probably gonna get a lot of jeers for giving such a low grade.. xPP)

On the plus side, it was quite funny. Maybe not the LOL ROFL kinda 'haha' but.. at least it wasn't totally dark like everyone said it would be. There, that's something good right? =D

Transformers. Turned out to be just okayy. I agree with yy when she said that if you were a sci-fi fan who's a sucker for cool graphics, then this would be THE movie to watch.

But for people who enjoy movies with great plots and witty dialogue thenn.. you can give this one a miss. And since I fit into this category, I'm only giving it a 6.5. Haha, it's worth 6 bucks though, don't worry. 2 and a half hours. It wasn't thaat draggy.. the action scenes were just long and detailed, lol.

Now what this movie lacks is a plot.

But what it definitely doesn't lack is eye candy. ;P Those who've watched it should know what, or in this case, whom I'm talking about.

do something you love even though you're not sure if you're really meant for it?

I posed this question to a few people and they all picked the first choice. I guess if I wasn't the one having the problem and someone else asked me the same question, I'd chose the first one too.

But the fact is, I AM the one who's indecisive, so..

Ok, picture this:

Let's say there's this girl named... Lisa, and she really loves singing. The thing is that she's never won any singing competition in her entire life. She thinks that she has at least a liiitle bit of talent, she knows she has the potential... She just wasn't one of the very best. Not yet anyway. There was always someone better than she was, more talented than she was... But Lisa truly feels... inspired when she sings and she'd love to inspire people the same way music inspires her.

There was something else that she already knew she was pretty good at - math. No matter what kind of math questions you threw at her, she'd have no problem solving it. She thinks she'd make tonsss of money if she became an accountant or some sort of mathematician.

It's too bad she'd rather have a microphone in her hand than a calculator... ><.

That's the thing about singing, if you're famous, you'd be loaded with money; if you were a nobody, you'd end up on the streets or just singing at some run-down pub where only drunkards will listen to you.

... Tough.

So by right, the most rational thing to do would be to become an accountant/engineer. Besides, if she didn't pursue a career in music, that wouldn't mean she'd have to stop singing... but it would just become a hobby.

So basically it's all a question of which one you'd pick:

Trusting your heart or trusting your mind?

Picking the more stable job and maybe earn big bucks in the process or picking the job you love but risking 'financial suicide'?

Today was a v. good day. For once, I actually got good results... although some people might disagree on my definition of 'good' when it comes to certain subjects but... oh well. Nothing they think or say can rain on my parade.

Haha anyway, because of my good mood, I was a bit crazy the whole day -okay, make that VERY crazy- but it's a good thing right? Cos I was happy. =)

I have no idea what some people might think of me and my, um.. emotional outbursts.. ahah, I'll excuse myself today and I hope they will too...

Or maybe they're used to it already.

Sigh.. back to school again.. and it started with a bump. A bump in the form of a certain Malay paper. Ahh screw that, no use crying over spilt milk.

Or at least, that's what I keep trying to tell myself.. ugh.

Math cheered me up a bit. =D.. but even that wasn't anything to shout about. What's next.. we didn't even get english back. I'm praying for a 90+ or maybe even a high 80.. then again, I'd better not jinx myself cos I expected the same thing for KH, and what do I get back? A 78.

The higher you hope, the harder you fall.. *bam*

I kinda snapped at yy over KH. Sorry about that, yy.

Actually, today was sort of a roller coaster ride: The lows were BM and KH; highs were Math and surprisingly... Moral. A 72 is an achievement since Pn Liao ~~a.k.a. Popiah~~, marks according to SPM standard.

Hey, I'm allowed to be a biiit proud of myself right? Cut me some slack. xD

Sigh.. I just noticed the difference between the times when I used to be top and now, when I'm bottom. One thing that I thought wouldn't affect my grades, but in fact, actually does...

A baby was born on the 8th of June.

And the baby was me!!

Yesterday was an unforgettable birthday... unforgettable in more ways than one. Most of my friends knew that yesterday was also the day of ASEAN tests. I slept at around half past midnight and woke up at 7 the next morning. 6 hours of sleep wasn't really ideal but I thought, nah.. should be okay.

So anyway, I reached garden international at about 8:15. The place was packed full of parents waiting there, making sure their child geniuses got in safely. x) Since I'm not the type of person with an IQ of a hundred and eighty -not like the actor who plays Hiro Nakamura-, my dad and sis just dropped me off and left. Oh and what do you know, it really is a small world after all, cos guess who I bumped into? None other than Lam Zhen Hao.

Apparently, he was there to give moral support to his lil sis. Sad, I would've liked some company. A lot of people there pakat-ed I think.. had their friends to talk to. I tried to get some to join me *cough* yy *cough.

When I went for registration, I saw that there was a looong name list. There were around 121 names on that list.. and those were only the girls. I was like, I don't think this is such a privilege after all. >.<

I had to sit down in some sort of assembly for half an hour.. I spent my time msging and people-watching. I was kinda surprised to see quite a number of people wearing school uniforms.. formal much?

Before any of the tests started, we had to attend a briefing on life as an ASEAN scholar etc. Sounds pretty nice to me... it's like going to college a few years earlier. The singapore education system is wayy better than ours. duh.

1st test of the day: General Ability test. (An IQ test with patterns.) 60 questions in 20 minutes. I guess that I don't have to tell you that I didn't manage to finish in time. Gosh, 3 questions a minute? Sorry, my brain only had the ability to do 2 questions a minute.

Oh, and I did a Google blog search and found another person who took the ASEAN test... here's a little snippet from her post: ' Half an hour later, we were taken to our classes. The General Ability Test was easy to do, 20 mins for 60 questions. Hahaha...I completed the test 5 mins earlier, and took the remaining time to check. I saw the girl bside me cant manage to finish......hahaha........ "~" '

... Gosh, I wonder if she meant me. =X

2nd test: Math. It was held in the gym.

Difference between normal school math tests and this test. (both subjective): Extra 14 questions but we're only given extra 15 minutes. >< You have GOT to be kidding me. Plus, their standard of math was form 4 level... I can't imagine what it must've been like for the f1 and f2 students.

After that we had a short lunch. I spent the time replying bday msgs. Thanks to all who wished me btw. All of you made my day.

But then when the Eng test started, things started going downhill. All the way down. Not cos the eng test was hard, but the fact that I had a splitting headache and started feeling nauseous -yeah, that did NOT help at all.- The eng test was 2 hours. It was okay, but I had to quickly scan through looong paragraphs in the comprehension section. And it was NSW level so... it definitely was no picnic.

I know I could've done better. But considering the circumstances? I think I did okay. =D

I finished the whole test in one hour. I felt guilty and knew I should have used the extra time to check everything but my head wouldn't allow it. I bet some people must have thought I was one of those over-confident people who thought it was a breeze. After all, I WAS leaning down on the table, eyes closed and my mind and spirit were both somewhere between the real world and dreamland.

Haha, oh yeah, Etain called to sing me a birthday song, which was a great surprise. xP Thanks again, etain. =)

Ahh, my bed never felt as good as it did that day... unfortunately, we couldn't go to shangri-la in the end since I wasn't feeling up to it.

So basically, that was my birthday. Happy birthday to me !
