what you didn't know is that that song is about the deadly Black Plague<also called the Black Death >
. "ring around the rosy" is refering to disease causing spots on the skin that are red at first and then turn black.
"pocket full of posies is referring to the fact that in the early stages of the deisease people would form a odor simular to rotting flesh and put posies in their pockets so they'd smell better.
"ashes, ashes, we all fall down" is refering to the fact that it was airborn and once symptoms showed, you could fall down and die any time.
children dying of the plague would sing this song before falling to their untimely deaths.
