| If God is powerful and just, why is there injustice in this world? My non-christian friends like to ask me variations of this question. "If the Christian God cares, why is there suffering in the world?" "If the Christian God is good, why would he allow the innocent die?" "If the Christian God is just, why does the evil people live a comfortable life?" These questions are based on the believe that if the Christian God is a God of Justice, surely he would not allow injustice to occur on the land he created; he would let justice be done by saving the innocent victims and punishing the perpetrators. However, there are two things that my non-christian friends have overlooked: Justice cannot be done unless the issue at hand is judged upon. And since our God is the perfect judge with fairness toward everyone, He cannot judge certain lives and not the others. In another words, for God to be fair, he cannot judge and declare that the "innocent lives" does not deserve to die without judging everyone else: the murders, the rapiest, you, and me. Read Matthew 13: 24-30, The Parable of the Weeds. "Wheat" stands for the righteous people, "weeds" stands for the evil who bring injustice to the world. God allow the weeds to grow, because by pulling the weeds now will "root up the wheat with them." This means that even though weeds, by defination, will weaken and chock some wheat seedings to death (hense the injustice we see today), trying to pull the weeds now will cause more problems and prevent the wheat seeding to grow to maturity. The time of harvest (end of the world) is when God will let His justice be done - seperating the righeous and innocent from the evil and guilty. My question to my non-christian friends: If you want God to do justice to the world's injustice now, are you prepare for your own judgement before God? If God perform justice to this world today, he will not only do justice to the innocent, he will also do justice to everyone by judging everyone. The reason that God has not pass his judgement yet is because you are the wheat seeding, one of God's people, and God loves you and wants to give you more time to repent of your sins, to grow and become mature in Him. Do you truly believe that you have done nothing wrong in your life and do not deserve to be punish? Do you truly believe that you had never break the 10 commmadments and deserve to go to heaven? Remember, if God is absolutely just, he will not let you get away with sins you consider trival such as "white lie", because although you don't want to think about it, someone had suffered because of your "white lie". And this is why you need Jesus Christ to save you from your sins and God's wrath. |
