On the debates

I watched the Canadian debate & then the US VP debate as it was replayed.

Frankly I found the US VP debate rather stiff & boring. Zzzzzzzzzz. Not a darned thing new or unexpected. Blech. What a waste of time.

The Canadian debate on the other hand was amazingly different than the ones put on in the US.
There were FIVE candidates sitting down facing each other around an oval table.
Lots of interplay, interruptions, accountability and emotions. Wow.

Dayhome First Week Update

My first week is over with my new dayhome! I got a 12 month old boy & his 2 year old sister for a couple of mornings this week. They will go to 3 full days/week after this. The baby noticed a few times that mom was gone, but he was pretty easy to sooth. His older sister did just fine. Their mom coordinates the local community league indoor gym so she's going to get me all trained up on using it. That sure will be great for this winter!

On Saturday I get to babysit little S again! Her mom worked with me at the daycare and in August we watched her for 2 days. She was brand new to having anyone except Mom and she didn't want me at all- she wanted my hubby! So he was stuck babysitting the whole weekend! I'm hoping that now she's a couple months older, saw me often at the daycare and is now used to the whole daycare routine she'll do a lot better. S is about a year now and Mom said tonight that she is walking! She is so cute! We'll have her for 11 hours on Saturday while Mom takes a driving class. Hopefully this time she won't be so clingy to hubby and be willing to sleep in the crib. LOL.

Tomorrow I don't have any kids to watch, but lots to do. One of the things I've been putting off is making phone calls. It has been years since I had to run to answer the phone for my job, but I still have phone aversion! Here is my to do list of calling...

for eye exam appointments. Hubby's glasses broke when he was on the airplane for his NYC trip last month & he's been walking around with taped up glasses! And my lenses have fine cracks on the top!
for an oil change. We are driving to Regina for Canadian Thanksgiving.
for the foster/adopt training class. I don't know why I keep putting this off. Just dreading going through the whole process again I guess.
