- I Am Not My Hair --- SO SO HOT!!!!

Long time...

Since being banned from xanga because of "secure" networks, blah blah BS, I've seemed to lose track of what my friends have been up to.  Strange how the absence of this one form of media that allows you to keep you in the loop about your long-distance friends without hanging out with them on a regular basis makes you miss all the little things.  I miss this little "peeping tom" window into the daily lives of my friends... :(

Not much has been going on in my life since I last wrote.  My weeks are pretty routine, but I like the cycle that I've adopted.  Work just enough to keep pay raises and promos going, study not very diligently and anxiously wait til Friday when I get to see and hang out with Brian for the rest of the weekend.  Sounds boring, but really have never been happier doing just that.  I'm a simple girl and don't need much.  Give me a good man, a good bottle of wine or beer and some good food and I'm in heaven.  The hardcore partying and drinking just doesn't do it anymore for me.  Every once in a while for sure.  But the recovery time is brutal.  Sunday after a long overdue HO reunion in NYC at the beginning of June was like DEATH!

The biggest and newest news in that for all that you know me and my sister Amy and her long time sig other, John - They are finally married after 11 years...or is it 12?  In any case, it's been the most anticipated wedding for my family and their friends.  And it couldn't have gone off better than a surprise wedding at what they told everyone would be just a wedding reception BBQ cause they already eloped.  So very cool!  The 1st of the 3 Ho's to go.  The 2nd one will be next year.  My brother is getting married this Wednesday.  And me....not for a while!  In other fam news, I'm going to be an aunt for the 3rd time.  Yaay!

That's all for me.  No big plans for J-4.  Possibly the Cape, but if not just chill out in NY.  Wish every weekend last 5 days...

What's the happy balance between expressing how you're feeling and nagging?  Boys have such a low tolerance of both and often misconstrue one for the other.  It's a fine fine line, but how can you tell someone how you feel and if you don't appreciate something when they'll take it as bitching?  Do guys really want us to never bring these types of things up?  Should I just suck it up and get over it?  After almost 26 years, I still can't figure this shit out...  ARGH!

How the hell is January already over?  I swear it that just Thanksgiving.  Good weekend.  Chilled on Friday, did some errands Saturday AM.  Saturday night Brian and I met up with the Yunkers, another Fiji bro, Nick and his girl, Christina who live out in N. Brunswick.  Early dinner, which meant after 3-4 bottles of wine, hold 'em, beer and scotch us old headz were done and in bed by midnight!  Man...seriously getting OLD!  Kind of funny though.  The measure of our drunkness was clearly exemplified when Christina's boy suddenly disappeared and later discovered that the only bathroom in the apartment was locked and Nick was passed out inside!

Lounged all day Sunday and threw in a little J. Roberts and Cameron Diaz in My Best Friend's Wedding and Hugh Grant in Love Actually.

Back to work.  I hate Mondays.  Have serious lack of motivation lately.  All I've been wanting to do is sleep all week and hang out all weekend.  Already looking forward to this weekend.  Although, does anyone really give a shit about the superbowl?  I mean I guess I'll root for the Steelers..but have just about non-existent interest in it.

On the other hand, I'm super excited for the Sanaa Lathan's Something New to come out!  The trials and tribulations of an interracial relationship...that's my shit!  Plus Simon Baker plays the guy in it and he's playing a landscape architect like my boy (which is lucky for me cause now he's actually interested in it too).  Wish tomorrow was Friday....

A little delayed on the weekend recap.  It's been a busy week and I've too lazy to write.  Keeping this xanga thing up can be hard.  With all the fabulous pages out there and all.  But for me it's just a way for me to log the things that have happened since I don't keep a hard journal or anything.

I digress... so Friday Nicole and Brook came down and met up with me and Bri to head out to the Celts v. Sixer game.  Sick game - triple overtime, my boys lost but it was a tight game.  Mad respect for Kyle Korver.  Ricky D played a ridiculous game and my boy Paul Pierce played decent too but a little disappointing with only 17 points on the board.  Hung out in Philly with some old headz from LFG.  Saturday went to the Body Worlds exhibit.  Very cool.  Watched the skins get beat and then had a ridiculous dinner at this quaint little BYO Mexican joint (Lolita).  Veal cheeks...MMM!!  Bri and I got caught in the unforeseen snowstorm heading back in my little sport car.  Took fricken 2 hours at 15 mph to get from Philly to NJ.  Thank goodness I was in the best company!  Sunday lazed around until we were so famished.  Motivated ourselves to grab some diner food and then spent the rest of the day watching football and ABC Sunday night TV.  Grey's Anatomy is soo good!

Freaking one of the only people I know that had to work on Monday and be disrespectful to Dr. King.  Been a long week and I'm dying for it to over already.  Heading up to NY this weekend.  Possibly to the city.  Playing it by ear I guess.  Have been sick of partying lately and needing a weekend to not have anything to do but chill.

Boston next weekend to bid farewell to my niece (moving to France)... :(
