Japanese Dramas

I have less than 3 months in Japan; so I want the full Japanesey experience.  With the excuse that it's my "Japanese practice" I have decided to emmerse myself in the world of Japanese drama.
A brief review of the 3 shows I watched last week:
僕の歩く道
14歳の母
ダメンズウォーカー
きらわれ松子の一生
My brother needs the computer so to be continued....

Summer Holidays

Where I went
*Climbed Mt. Fuji: saw a horizon of clouds half way up; got soaked going to the top

{I wish it looked like this when we climbed it!}
*Karuizawa: stayed in a beautiful little cabin; worked at the Woodshed Cafe (beware of insane people when you go there); and went to the Karuizawa Union Church with a whole bunch of missionaries
*Wakayama: 3-day camp with my English school; went swimming in the beach and got stung by a jellyfish
*Sanda: 3-day camp with my Sunday school; went swimming in the river; played vollebyall; performed "Jesus calms a storm" with background music (Jaws and Titanic); pretended to sacrifice Rohan on the campfire
*Shodoshima: 4-day camp with KGK (Chrisitian Unversity Group); was amazed at the uni students' discussions about the Bible; awe-inspiring singing; went swimming and to an Olive bathhouse; lay under the stars and sighed at God's creation

NOW: The Holidays are over! For everyone but me! I just love seeing Jeremy and Erina troop off to school while I spend day-after-day doing my own thing. Right now, I keep my days full teaching English and helping out at the Kansai Time Out magazine.

Overdue Update

I, Naomi Catherine Smith, on June 3 2006 officially graduated from Marist Brothers International School.

FREEDOM!

I'm in Japan until December--which is when I leave for university in Sydney, Australia.  Right now I'm teaching English, watching movies, saying goodbye to classmates, sorting out my treasures (nOt junk!), and of course updating my xanga.

To all my family, friends, supporters, acquaintances:
THANK YOU!

I bring you: The Class of 2006!

MUN Highligts

Some of u may be thinking...get over it...but some have been asking for details, so here's my list of the best (and worst) moments!

*Mauritania (last year's Israel) used a point of order to say that Western Sahara wasn't a country and got a warning straight after the first role call! How's that for a dramatic start!

*UKs and my Darfur resolution passed!!! even though it failed in our mini-Ga; how ironic is that!

*I got to be part of the Security Council's Permanent Member's United Front as we tore to pieces the Security Council Reform Resolution. No way were we giving up our veto power!!! Mauritania added extra excitement by insulting all 5 of us, calling us an "egotistical oligargy" so we got to stand up! Also during that resolution, Colombia called African nations "puny" and said they "didn't do anything" so all the African countries stood up

*UKs right-to was funny! He actually pulled off a pretty good snobby British accent talking abt theatre.

*We got to have a superserious PPC meeting; we actually went into the computer lab to decide on how to count the votes...unfortunately, nuclear inspections didn't get a revote, even though it might have made our resolution pass!
*JiSi and Divya gave me a bouqet of flowrs at the end of MUN (awwwww)

*My Asia region delegates all spoke more than once *sniff sniff*

next week Party! thanks everyone for a great MUN year. Next year's delegates seem really keen so I know next year'll go brilliantly! Good luck!

p.s if i forgot any good mun moments...remind me..cause i dont want to forget them...and plz send me pix if u have them!!!

MUN's already over! Spring's almost here! I'm gonna graduate!

MUN's over, and as I look back I see so many things I would have done differently~
**especially replies to direct questions...man I've thought of so many cool comebacks, but its too late now!!
Overall though, MUN was AuSoMe and I'm going to miss participating in it. I think the topics we did this year were exciting and relevant--they've given me a passion to read the news!
Being president was an interesting experience but I had trouble reading placards, which was embarrassing.
**I called for Kenya even though the person hadn't raised it because my parliamentarian said so...but it turned out he'd misread Kazakhstan! And once I had to say "delegate in the corner" because I couldn't see her card at all!!
Some fun memories though.
Next thing I'm looking forward to---our Vietnam Trip in Spring Break!
