| The Work of Christ Many have about the last events of Jesus' sinless life on earth. He was condemned as a common criminal, hung from a cross until dead, and three days later he rose from the dead. But few people understand the meaning of these events. Remember These Points: - Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem, raised in Galilee, and became a carpenter. He spend three years ministering to thousands and proving that he was the Christ.
- Then he was condemned to die on a cross to bear the penalty for our sin.
- After three days, Jesus rose bodily from the dead. His resurrection is a historical reality.

| The Person of Jesus Christ Man is incapable of fully understanding God. God is holy and man is sinful. To bridge the gap between God and man, God took the form of a man in Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is "the image of the invisible God... For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him" Colossians 1:15,19
To be the complete expression of God, Christ had to be God. To be seen and understood by man, he had to be human. Jesus Christ has a dual nature - he is the God-man.
In order to begin understanding Jesus Christ, it is necessary to explore his deity and his humanity. Remember These Points:
Jesus Christ is the perfect image of God. As God, he has authority over the earth.Jesus was human, too. Many of his experiences were similar to those you have today. He suffered and was tempted. Though he never yielded, this allows him to understand when you are tempted. When you fail, he forgives as you confess your sins to him. | | |

We had our first official Bible Study titled "God Cares for You". DFD
Conclusion:
It is important for you as a Christian to be assured that God is your Father and that you have eternal life. Since feelings change, this assurance must ultimately depend on the word of God. "I write these things to you who believe...that you may know that you have eternal life" (1 John 5:13).
"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life." -John 5:24
"And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life." -1 John 5:11-12
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will go in and eat with him, and he with me." -Revelation 3:20
Points to remember:
- God created you for his own purpose and his glory. He gave you dignity by shaping you after his own likeness.
- God considers you to be of great value. He takes personal interest in knowing you completely.
- He loves you so intensely that he sent his Son to die for you on the cross. This demonstration of his love shows he wants to give you an eternal and abundant life.
- When God gave you this life in Jesus Christ, you were spiritually born into God's famly. He is your Father. You are his child.

| Hello Everybody! For those who missed the Seekers Meeting , I will be
updating on what we did today! As you all know, we don't have
school on Monday due to Yom Kippur! Yes, you're probably asking
why are we Christians giving a hoot about this holiday?! Well, that is
exactly what we did today, we learned more about Yom Kippur through a
video that we watched during this meeting.
Yom Kippur- Day of Atonement
For the Jews, this is the holiest day on the calendar because this is the day of National Repentance.
In Leviticus 23, it talks about The National Day of Atonement where all
the Jews had to repent all their sins. The following four Hebrew words
are the main concepts of what they did.
-la'anot: to humble oneself
-t'shuvah- repentance; returning (not regret) where one turns back and
looks back at what was wrong and tries to fix it rather than grieving
about it
-tefillah- prayer (connect with God, not asking for something)
-tzedakah- charity (justice and what is supposed to be done)
During this day, Jews would sacrifice two goats. One of the goats would
be slaughtered and the blood of this goat would be sprinkled on the
altar to cover the sins. Therefore, the sins have been removed with the
price of an innocent animal.The second goat is known as the scapegoat
because it is taken out into the wilderness after people have lain
their hands on it and a prayer is done to transfer their sins to this
one goat. Usually this goat would run into the wilderness and just die
there but the significance of this sacrifice is that the goat is
carrying their sins away.
Well, some may ask, what is the point of all this sacrifice, prayer,
and etc.? Well, there is this strong evil power called sin that
separates God from human and sin is self-inflicted but repentance cuts
the power of sin. However, siin offering must be accomapanied
(sacrifice).
So, you might ask again, How does this deal with Christianity? Well, in
Hebrews 10, It says that it is impossible to take away sin. It only
postpones sins for another year until the next Yom Kippur. However, in
2Corinthians 5, it states that this Jewish sacrifice is eternally
fulfilled in Jesus for he is the perfect sacrifice. Jesus shed his own
blood for us by taking up the cross. He was the atoning sacrifice.
Therefore, as Christians, we don't need to have an annual ceremony of
sacrificing due to our Savior who has graciously died for us. We have
been saved through faith and grace. As we continue our study of the
Bible and our past, present, and future, we ask for all to join us on
Thursdays and Fridays periods 9-10. Thursdays are for Bible Studies and
Friday is the day where we bring in a Christian friend for EVANGELISM
GAMES! YAY!

Yes. We do just that. This Christian fellowship serves to be a family in school that serves the very people who make the school: you Midwoodians, and beyond that, the community that is New York. We are rooted on one thing: Jesus Christ and we believe that He gave His life for us so that we may live for so much more. We want to share this kind of revolutionary love. Through Seekers, we hope that people may be encouraged and take on the challenge of seeking for the capital T truth in all that they do. We are not based on a religion, but an intimate relationship with a Heavenly Father. Holler (lujah!)
